how long can i keep substrate stored before i use it? do i have to refridgerate it or keep it at room temp? any help folks is awesome

depends on if it's pasteurized.. sterilized or composted.....

sterilized.. can be kept virtually months as long as it's well sealed.

pasteurized poop.. use right away!!

Yes, if you PC'd and your substrate is still in a jar, you can keep it around for a while. This is as long as there is no air holes, filtered or not, since either you get chance of contam or the substrate will dry out or both.
