I had just found out today that my father had been diagnosed with Melanoma. Now, they said it wasn't too deep in the skin, so they are going to operate and they will hopefull get it all. My father is a good guy and he's keeping his head up. He doesen't need chemo, hopefully he won't, hopefully they'll get it all. Thye said it might be hereditary. I just hope he recovers compleatly and I wanted to just say this to someone. Thank you.

Best of luck to your dad. Melanoma can be pretty vicious if it spreads, but if they get it early no worrys. Sounds like he'll be fine.

Just tell you dad to keep fighting. My aunt has been doing that on and off for over 20 years now i think. She has had cancer a few differant times and she just keeps going strong.

Early detection is very key, sounds like that's the case with your dad, so that's good news in that respect. I bet everything will be fine, it's a form that can be operated on, which I think helps lot too. Things are much more promising for cancer patients now than was once the case, I'm sure. My mom had inoperable lung cancer and hung in there for years, went through chemo but said no way to radiation, and switched to Kool 100's when she became ill...she was a character, no doubt.

I'll be thinking of your dad, man. My dad just recently went through the same thing. Luckily, they caught it early and surgery got rid of it. And keep your chin up! It could be much worse.

Best of luck. Since it seems they caught it pretty early, there's little to worry about.

My brother had a couple of melanomas, hes only 5 years older than me. Its good they caught it when they did, the surgery isnt too bad, but he might have a big scar. If the biopsy turn out good than he should be alright. My brothers ex-gf on the other hand (at the time his gf) could have died if she didnt have hers taken out within 8 months or something like that. But it should be all good man! Just make sure his diet is good, gets excersize, and if he ever goes out in the sun to wear the right ammount of sunscreen and not to go out too long in the sun anyway. Eating things with vitamin E, things for your skin, anti oxidants. Things that will turn those harmful rays away, keep your body producing right ammounts of melanin. My brother was really worried, and he was sad for a while, and me and my mom were really worried. Its good they caught it when they did. Best of luck to your dad!
