poll ..the next marijuana legalization movement...

given that the current legalization movement will abort just like the last one did..when will the next one begin?...
the poll options are as follows ..
a) 40 years have passed since the 1970s.. so linearly..the next one would begin in the 2050s...
b) legalization movements may only be possible during a fourth turning..especially given the authoritarian nature of the upcoming cycle (a cycle is 75-90 years.. the next one begins in the early-mid 2020s).. which implies that the next opening will be in the mid-late 2080s...
c) global neoliberalism might become so powerful as to preclude that in the next 4T.. leaving the next opening after two or more cycles (2160s at the earliest)...

I think this one's a pretty big success considering WA and CO.... More states will legalize it in the upcoming years i presume

I feel that part of the problem with how we're going about things is that we keep allowing history to repeat itself (maybe it could be due to thinking like this?).
I would hope we wise up and start the next movement a bit earlier.

Weed legalization is stupid anyway.
It's not like stoners are out there saying... "Shit man, gotta stop, cause it ain't legal in my state." They are still doing it, and it's mostly decrimanlized anyway.
And even a few decent states have MMJ, which are a breeze to get.
Just go to the Doctor and say you have anxiety, get some xanax, and enjoy pretty much the same high, for a shorter period of time.
The only reason why I want it legal is so the stoners have nothing more to talk about.

i think weed legalization is very important. Will save us millions of dollars through the cancelation of draconian drug laws and in taxation of the substance. Would also give a boost to the economy through legal marijuana sales. I am in favor of true drug education and legalization, keeping something illegal only makes it easier for someone to get it. I couldnt get alcohol til I was about 16 but I could get weed since i was 12 and in abundance. But the push for majijuana legalization never dies down tbh, it just hits rough patches

Yo... You just compared Xanax to weed that's like comparing apples to watermelons
It's just as easy to go to a medical state and say you have trouble sleeping

What are you talking about?
The current legalization movement isn't going anywhere. More and more states are changing their tune on marijuana, hell, even Colorado legalized it for recreational use.

Now were getting warmer this " movement " isn't a movement at all people on all sides are realizing alot of benifits that we've overlooked and ignored over time . Personally I think the only things against the legality of marijuana are just people who are gonna lose alot of money in some sort of way. I.E rich fat old ass capital hill jakels. If the majority of the citizens of this country want it .it WILL happen...may take a few terms but it'll happen

What kind of shitty logic is that? I don't even know where to start.
So because people are smoking weed when it's illegal, there is no point in changing the laws? Uhh you can go fuck yourself if you think it's alright for people to risk going to jail for enjoying something less harmful compared to legal substances.
I don't give a fuck if a "few decent states" have medical marijuana, I'm a perfectly healthy person who doesn't want to cheat some stupid medical laws to partake in something I enjoy. And I'm pretty sure the only state you can easily get prescribed marijuana is California.
Then you go on to advise people to take Xanax, which is highly addictive and you can die from the withdrawals, instead of weed.
High five?

2025 for legalization on a federal level.
I guarantee my state will be the last to legalize it, we're too rich and backwards.
First to illegalize abortion, last to legalize marijuana.

Actually, because of the fact that it is illegal and employers drug test for it, we do actually have to stop if we want to be able to find a decent job.

Lucky them. What about the rest of us that don't have access to MMJ that could benefit from it? Everyone should have access to it legally, not just a select few.

If only it were that easy. A lot of doctors are hesitant to prescribe it due to it being habit-forming. I tried once myself. I felt like I could benefit from it at the time because I have social anxiety, am easily stressed out, and I over-worry about things and it was causing my work performance to suck. I mentioned all of these things to the doctor and he still wouldn't prescribe me Xanax. He prescribed me Paxil instead, which I never filled. What a waste of $50.

I have an old friend from back in the day who went to PRISON for hash. PRISON. He's still on parole. Try telling him marijuana legalization isn't a big deal.
It's pretty easy to take that kind of attitude when you've never been in trouble for it.
