Is it easier to stomach than jus eating the shrooms? 3. does the strength vary from just eating the shrooms? as i said before please only reply if you have experience as i dont want to waste any shrooms. (i've had bad experience making ganja butter that din't do anything whatsoever and wasted a fair amount of bud)

just like your ganja butter, it's important not to expose the mushrooms to too much heat for an extended period of time.
1. I like to make mine with dried mushies (some people prefer fresh, but this is tea isn't it????) put the fruits in a small saucepan, and cover with cold acidulated water, bring to a boil (once the bubbles appear around the edge of the saucepan-essentially simmering at this point-turn off the heat, cover and let it sit on the cooling heating element (assuming its an electric stove, but whatever) for about 20 minutes. At this point you can use the liquid to make kool-aid, or if you want tea, put a couple of tea bag in at the beginning. You'll have to adjust the amounts to your preference. (usually a dry gram per cup, for me anyhow) 2.Yes, it almost always gets rid of the nausea/sickness experienced by some people. 3.Yes, it varys in the prep, the fruits themselves, and on the individual. It all varies.

I like to eat the shrooms after I have made the tea, so there is no waste at all, but they do taste nasty after being boild in the water. Also I add more sugar with mushroom tea I think it tasts better. The effect will also hit you much quicker 10-15 min. It's much better on your stomach because your stomach doesn't have much work to do at all.
This is how I make it: 1 cup per person. so if it's just you then put one cup of water in a saucepan, put in the shrooms as well to what ever level you desire. I use fresh I haven't tried dry yet. Bring to a boil then just like would with a tea bag in a cup squash the shrooms on the side of the saucepan to get those jucess out, do this a couple of times then turn off leave the shrooms in the saucepan put a lid on it and leave for 5-ten min. Now strain into a cup put in a tea bag sugar if you like. I find it much better with sugar and a little milk and down the hatch.

Yup... Shroom tea is good. I personally find that it gives me more nausea than eating them straight though. Everyone is different, and the only way is to try it yourself.
The trip comes on much quicker (usually about 20-30 minutes for me) and harder.. but tends not to last as long.
Its a great way to do it, experiment and work out for yourself what is best!

IMO the best way to eat shrooms is to grind them up and mix them with enough honey so that they are all stuck together. Then you can just swallow lumps of this, and it just tastes like honey, mostly.

It should work for philosophers? stones.
Take a little OJ, or something with citrus acid in it (about a fluid OZ or so), and mix this with about a cup of water. Bring to a boil then remove from heat. When it stops boiling, pour into a pint type jar with a plastic lid, then add your the prepared* mushrooms. Shake vigorously, then let it sit about long enough for it to cool, then shake it some more (this is key, shaking helps very much). Take this concoction and strain it through a coffee filter, and squeeze it out real good. Repeat the extraction at least one more time, but a total of three extractions would be better. Flavor to taste if needed. The taste is usually quite mild compared to chewing on a dry mushroom.
When you filter out the mushroom chunks it usually will reduce the nausea caused by ingesting the raw mushrooms. But, others I know who have no problem eating mushrooms encounter nausea from drinking tea. Try to limit the total amount of fluid you must drink, as this will attribute to the nausea. I believe the main factors of nausea from tea are the rapid onset and drinking too much liquid.
As stated above, onset of the chemical can be very fast compared to eating. Usually within 15-30 minutes, but is dependant on how much you have eaten, and how much fluid has been ingested, and how fast the brew was taken. If slammed, the actual onset can be completely different, with peaking occurring very early, then downhill from there. If slowly sipped over a long period (especially when made extra potent), the high will slowly climb, with the peak lasting similar to eating.
Usual doses are similar to however much you would eat, usually the extractions can be quite effective. Experiences vary wildly.
Mushrooms are usually chopped up or ground into a powder. If using fresh mushrooms, freeze them before hand to rupture the cell walls to allow more effecient extraction.

1. whats the best way to make it?
Tea for two: 1. Two cups boiling water 2. Three green tea bags 3. Four or five grams dry or 40 to 50 grams fresh cubies 4. Juice of one lemon 5. A little honey or sugar Put the tea bags in a pot and pour the boiling water over them Wait about 30 seconds for the water to cool slightly (too hot and it denatures some of the alkaloids) then toss in the mushrooms Let it sit for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Pull out tea bags and squeeze excess liquid into the pot, then toss them in the trash. Pour tea and mushrooms into blender and run on high for about a minute. Even though they've been steeped, the mushrooms still contain a lot of goodies; you shred them in the blender so they'll be easy to drink with the tea. The blender will make the tea a little foamy (yuk) so let it sit for a few minutes until the foam is gone. Don't skim out the foam, it too contains lots of goodies. When the foam is gone, add sugar or honey to taste, add the lemon juice, and drink. The shredded mushrooms will settle, so stir it before drinking. One more thing: if you're prone to nausea, get some papaya enzyme pills from a health food store and take a few with your tea. Quote:
2. Is it easier to stomach than jus eating the shrooms?
Some people seem to think so, I for one. I find the taste of cubies very objectionable, but brewed in tea as above the taste is almost completely missing. The only thing left is the sweet lemon and tea flavor and I like that. It's the bad taste, mainly, that makes me feel sick. Quote:
3. does the strength vary from just eating the shrooms?
I've not found any reduction in potency following the above recipe exactly. The key is to boil the water, then take it off the heat then toss in the tea bags and wait 30 seconds before tossing in the mushrooms. While the actives in the mushrooms are denatured by heat, waiting a few seconds before starting to steep them seems to give the water time to cool to the point where no significant loss of potency occurs. Good luck, and have fun! -Diploid Edit: By the way, you can store this tea for a few days in the refrigerator or for months frozen in an air-tight bottle without a noticeable loss of potency.

Is it a good idea to try 'shroom tea for your first trip? It seems like a good way to avoid potential nausea, which I'm afraid could lead to a bad trip if me or fellow trippers got it into our heads that we'd been poisoned, or had taken too much and were going to die, just because our stomachs' started feeling bad or we were sick.

You don't, really.
It's simple math. If you're using it as one cup to a dose:
You use a number of cups equal to your expected doses.
You use a number of grams equal to:
(number of doses) * (grams per dose) == total grams.

Heh Heh. Anyone who drinks tea must try slamming it at least once. It is two different experiences between sipping slowly, and chugging the mix. Although I would not recommend slamming for the faint of heart, the come up is very fast, and very intense. It can be overwhelming, the first time somebody that is not me tried tea, he downed the whole mix. Then 5 minutes later already started feeling the rush and wondered what the hell he just got himself into. The rest of the peak was enjoyed (and almost feared it would get too crazy) from the comfort of a couch in complete silence. The only bad thing is that when done this way it is almost over as fast as it begins (but your left with a nice afterglow for the rest of the evening). That is why it is usually recommended that you sip your tea. It makes your peak climb slowly, usually until you finish drinking, then lasts quite a bit longer. It is best to make more than intended (as in dose wise), and sip through the whole time you plan to have the voyage.
Tea can be crazy. Don't think for a minute that it is weak (unless you fuxor the brewing process).
