Lawn mower - 2 Snakes - 0
    #17944437 - 03/12/13 03:26 PM (11 years, 1 month ago)

So I was mowing today and ran over not one, but two snakes:

I swear it was an accident, but I'm not going to miss the 4 ft. rattle snake hanging around the backyard. The other snake was 3 ft. long. Not sure, but I think it was a yellow bellow water snake

Running over small animals was always the best part of mowing.

What type of snake is that?
From my perspective that beast looks quite big.

You're very brave. You fought these wild and terrifying beasts valiantly and are a shining example for all to follow.

I've already taken out a beehive.

An entire 50 gallon barrel was a hive in a junk pile near the house.
I took it out and got myself some honey a few years ago. Still have some of the honey and it's delicious.
Pissed off quit a few people around here though.

i dont really condone killing animals unless their are children or pets that could be harmed... you should have tried to scare them away or relocate them like a man!

On what reasoning do you hold this belief?

Hey, try mowing a yard sometime.
Snakes and frogs are pretty difficult to see while you're mowing.

I'd like to see you attempt to 'relocate' a rattlesnake, Steve Irwin.
Let me know how your trip to the ER goes.

I don't think I'd willingly charge a rattlesnake with a lawn mower.. Especially with my luck, he'd make it by the lawn mower and clamp down on my leg... I just know it.

I have already lost a dog to a rattlesnake bite. I have a son who is three and loves playing outside. There is no "relocating" them where I live. They have dens around the house.

And no, I did not see the snakes until after it had already happened.

Well, even if it was an accident, it was sure nice of him to take some pics for fellow dragonslayers to beat off to. Fuck yeah, dead snakes!

More so, I'd like to see you attempt to 'relocate' a rattlesnake, Steve Irwin. Let me know how your trip to the ER goes.

I know, I mow all the time, but there aren't any snakes in Canada.
When I was younger me and my friend did some odd jobs for the farm owner lady that lived near by.
One day we were cleaning the chicken coop. As we clean the chickens would peck at our feet and legs so my buddy decides he had enough so in a fit of rage he grabs a shovel, runs outside and digs and chicken sized hole in the ladys yard... he marches back in the coop, grabs one of the chickens, takes it outside and buries it neck deep in the yard... only the head of the chicken is sticking out of the ground about 20 centimeters... the runs in the garage starts the ladys push mower and runs towards the chicken with the mower on and runs over the chicken with the mower... needless to say the chickens head went flying !

it was awesome !

yea im not trying to start an argument or anything... Just making sure you dont have that "hey look, an animal... let's run it over with a lawn mower!!" attitude. I am sorry about your dog.

Who gives a fuck?
They're snakes. Innumerable amount of them, and if you actually lived in snake country you'd realise they're little more than lethal pests. Fuck 'em.

If he posted "I just chopped up a puppy with a shovel" with pictures my response would be more or less the same.
This notion that every living thing is a sacred organism worthy of utmost reverence is fucking stupid.

I completely agree... I just didnt know what his intentions were initially. At first, it seemed like a thread bragging about the snakes he killed.

And complete lack of empathy is not only stupid but a good indicator of psychopathic tendencies. :awethumb:

(Not implying everyone should "empathize" with poisonous snakes btw)

Take your poor reasoning somewhere else.
It is nothing to do with a lack of empathy for all living things. Just the ones that I don't see fit to live on my property.
