Thinking about hunting wild ones?
    #1793444 - 08/08/03 06:49 PM (20 years, 7 months ago)

Ok I live in wisconsin and I read that psilocybe azurescens are the only active shrooms that grow here. So my first question is, are psilocybe azurescens the only active spieces that grows here? And how large is the population of psilocybe azurescens in wisconsin, are they even worth hunting. Plus where the hell should I go look?

Psilocybe Azurescens can be cultivated in WI; however, it does not grow wild.

To find a list of active species in your state, check the FAQ. Don't forget to read the bit at the top.

To find where to find a species of mushroom, look up its habitat. Information like that is available in the FAQ and several places on the Internet. Once you know the habitat, start looking for places that are like that. Expect to find little or nothing at first (unless you're waaaay lucky!). Perseverance is a valuable trait in mushroom hunters.

Good luck, and happy mushrooming!
