 Should I be worried about growing shrooms?

I don't plan on growing tons of shrooms, but I'm a little nervous, call me a pussy if you will.  How long have you been growing without getting cought? I might grow some, take a break, grow some more, stop for a while, just so theres less of a chance of my apartment getting raided while they're growing. I'm sure they federally fuck you if you get cought so maybe its good to be paranoid.
I want to give my friends them for free, but they'll tell people and think I grow them since they were free. Then word will get out and next thing you know DEA agents are flying through my window.

Tell no one you grow them, and you should be fine(assuming you're not going to deal, you don't live with your parents, and you're the only one with access to your APT).

hey man, dont worry just dont tell anybody that you are growing. if your friends ask why you are givin them to them for free dont tell them you grew them. anyways if they are real friends and you tell them not to tell anybody they wont tell. the reason i would be worried is if you were growing at home with your parents and they couldnt know. thats what im doin. peace

just grow em and don't tell people, tell your friends you got them for free at a concert and you want to share em, I dunno, make up something, then you can grow em in peace, paranoia free. The DEA needs a preeety big reason to raid you, you'll be fine

Its just that I mentioned growing them a few months ago to one of my friends that I dont really trust. He was in my car after I picked up a few syringes from a friend. I was stoned and left the shoe box out that they were in. He decided to take a look, thinking I got some new kicks. I shouldnt of told him what they were but I didnt want him telling people I was into heroin or some shit.  I was smoking with him and a couple other people not to long ago and he asked me if I grew my shrooms yet...all I did was shake my head in disgust.

you should have just pulled the heroin routine, ah well.
They'll catch on eventually, they always do.
I'd say trade it for pot. then you have someone to take down with you in case you get caught.

Ok, if you don't want that guy to be informed about what you're doing, mention to him at some time that you tried, but they became contaminated. Unless you're growing pounds of the babies you're really running a very low level operation, and they realy don't take up much space and all that for a standard set up. Even in an apartment, unless the landlord's in all the time and literally going through shit, you're fine, a shroom setup just doesn't stick out like a weed set up does, for sure. If you've got a terrarium or casing going and you need to hide it quickly, it's really not too hard; you can't just toss a towel over a 1000 watt HPS system, by comparison.

Growing Psilocybe mushrooms in the U.S. and some other countries is illegal. If you get caught you could be jailed for a long time, depending on the charge.
This has to be taken into consideration before commencing growing any mushroom containing psilocybin or psilocyn.
For me, the whole farce of our culture deeming a naturally occuring mushroom, when picked, 'illegal' is ridiculous.
The fact is, you are a criminal by using, drying, eating or growing a mushroom which is, as much part of nature as a pine tree. Pathetic! But you can still lose your freedom.

Damn, that sounds like what the cops told me when I got busted. "Tell us who else was with you and we will let you off light. Why protect them? They are as guilty as your are... you shouldn't have to pay for their illegal activities as well as your own." Anybody else smell bacon?

Such as growing illegal mushrooms.
It is fairly safe to grow shrooms under the following conditions:
1) Tell nobody! I cannot stress this enough. There are too many people out there that will sell you out to get out of their own trouble or to get you in trouble as revenge. Ex-girlfriends calling the cops on you, etc.
2) Do not grow anywhere that somebody else might wonder. When the cops show up because the neighbors complained about the loud music and escort you into your bedroom to let you get clothes, you don't want them to notice the glow of a growlight coming from the closet. Same thing goes for landlords that come into the apartment to fix leaking sink while you were at work.
3) Know your rights. Be ready to answer questions when the cops show up at your door. http://archive.aclu.org/library/know_your_rights.pdf
4) Do not sell. Do not give away. Use for personal use in your home only. The more people that know, the more likely one of the people that know will turn you in.
5) Grow only what you need. Do not have pounds of fruit laying around.
6) Remember, just because somebody is a friend today doesn't mean they will be tomorrow. People have a way of turning on each other, especially when strong emotions such as love and hate are involved. Did I mention, TELL NOBODY?
If you want to shroom with your friends, have them drive you to some truck stop or gas station that is out of the way a bit. Hop out and have them wait while you go inside or around back to 'to buy some from this bum you know' or whatever.

hey, I won't be the only one going down if some dumbass highschooler can't keep their mouths shut. I'd say trading for pot instead of selling for money would put the blame on both of you, therefore keeping each other in check, the sources flowin' and the trusted individuals in "the circle".

I doubt the DEA would bother raiding anyone who isn't selling, unless you hang a sign on your front door, or run your mouth a lot, and even at that the DEA wouldn't bother, it'd be some local cop. As long as you use a small amount of brains and don't sell you will be safe.

theyre fucking assholes.
if youre GIVING them to them, the condition should be that they can tell NO ONE. that they cant even mention your name and mushrooms in the same 5 minute period.
