Get an Orange Terror. Those things sound amazing at any volume.
You can also opt for a head and cab or a combo. Check them out.

No im going Zinky. i just got off the phone with Bruce. he gave me some good advice about the amp im looking at. i was a little worried about losing some tone when moving up from el84s to Ax7s so i called up Bruce Zinky to ask some questions, he told me that I could have an atenuator installed that will allow me to half my power. He then said he had just finished doing this to an order of amps for the Who.
It is very cool that you can just call him up to ask random stuff like that!

That is actually really cool. Had no idea that could be done.

What do you guys think of this site? It is based in indonesia, the only payment method is a bank transfer.
It seems a little fishy but the website looks good.

I'd be weary of an Indonesian website that posts their products in American $ amounts, and only accepts bank transfers.
I don't see a major price difference in trusted US websites.

Zinky? Ive never heard of them and im a avid guitar player. Is it a boutique amp? Also you only want an attenuator if you have a high watt amp and want to get high watt tube overdrive at low volumes. Attenuators take a extreme toll on your preamp tube section.

Thats what i thought as well, but with the global marketplace it is likely it is an internet business that is marketed to westerners. You can choose the pricing between euros, pounds, or dollars. Though I am wary.

Boutique-ish. thy are becoming more mainstream but are still considered boutique. Bruce Zinky used to design tube amps for fender in the 90s then went rogue and started Zinky Electronics. The BV is the best sounding amp i have played. I do want to be able to get the OD saturation levels at a lower volume. How does it take a toll on your pre amp?

Every so often i find one for a good price. This one is apparently new for 800 bucks. That is like half what you find it anywhere unless it is used.

sui said: i was a little worried about losing some tone when moving up from el84s to Ax7s
That makes no sense
el84's (aka 6bq5) are power pentodes used in the output section of various amps, most notably most Vox'es (incl. the Vox AC15 mentioned by Pigasus). By ax7's, you probably mean 12ax7's (also known as ecc83), which are high-mu triodes used in the input/preamp sections of many amps, and sometimes as phase splitters too. Several amp designs use both 12ax7's (input/preamp/phase splitter stages) and el84's (output stage). Your current/old Marshall amp is one of them. So is the Vox AC15.
I.e., there's no such thing as "moving up from el84's to 12ax7's". Moving up from el84's in guitar world would usually land you with el34's/6ca7's or 6L6/KT66/KT88's or some other higher-powered pentode (there aren't many more options than the ones I listed). The effect of 'moving up' in the way I described is obviously a slight change of tone, as different types (and even brands) of tubes tend to sound different, especially when operated close to their maximum ratings ('driven hot'). The latter is especially important, since fatter output tubes (such as el34's) will generally require much more output power to drive them into distortion than smaller ones (such as el84's) to get that nice and creamy tone from your output section. A power sink is usually the answer (that, or ear plugs and a place where the nearest neighbors are more than 2 miles away).
So back to your situation. First of all, get your old amp fixed if it's all tube; tube amps aren't that complicated and can usually be fixed relatively easily.
Secondly, your current amp apparently uses (used) el84's. The Zinky Velvet thingy (looks nice btw) uses 6L6 tubes in the output section. Generally, 6L6 tubes will sound a bit more round smooth than el84's if you drive them hard. They will also generally produce more output power, so you may need a power sink. But apart from that, I'd expect your new amp to sound warmer...depending on the little caveat below.
You may notice I say 'generally' a lot in the above. That's because the tubes aren't the only determinant of the sound you'll get. Excluding the guitar itself, the player, the speaker, the room, etc - in other words, if we stick to the electronics, the actual amp design is the number one factor that determines the sound. 6L6 tubes can sound really nice and warm, but an incompetent designed will be able to let them sound like marbles being passed through a wood shredder. On the other hand, el84's tend to sound a bit harsh, but a good design can exploit that tendency.
Moral of this story? Don't judge an amp by its tube complement. I trust you didn't and you have played the Zinky already. But to anyone being tempted to worry about "this amp uses the wrong tubes, I don't like xxx's!" Stop worrying. Haul your ass to your favorite music store and buy the amp that _you_ like. Even if it uses 2n5555's in the output section and TL741's for the preamp sections.

Oh, btw, I disregarded in my post that your recently deceased Marshall uses 4 pcs. of el84 in the output section, so realistically, it produces something like 40W max. So that's about as loud as the Zinky you aim to buy, as the step from 40W to 50W is less than 1dB, which is a barely audible difference (at best). So forget about the stuff about the power sink I wrote.

I think the site is OK. I am going to order it tonight and hopefully I will have it by the end of the week.
I am going to research modding the Marshall to add the fan but I might just take it over to the local shop and throw it on consignment. Even with the issues its worth 500 bucks.
I can not wait to get the Blue Velvet.

I really enjoy extended range guitars. To the point that playing a 6 or even 7-string feels a bit restrictive. Drums are my real "thing", though.

i have a 1974 fender twin reverb, damn that shit sounds good, if you do reconsider the zinky maybe try a classic tube amp
i love solid states also but i feel that in the end tube amps are more versatile. only downside is you cant do as much crazy feedback shit with them, but thats not the end of the world.
