Good finds!
With a field of that size, what's your strategy?

If it's anything like looking for semilanceata, then a great deal of time and effort.

I bring lots of water, multiple containers, and an extra SD card for my camera.
I do grid patterns... and cover as much ground as possible.
This bovine field is actually 350ish acres connected to 10,000+ acres of many different ecosystems/ecotones.
I stick to the oak hammocks around/in the field...

Happy new year to all. I like to use those empty coffee containers so as not to beat up my finds and separate them. Binoculars have been handy as well. Any finds in the treasure coast?

Help ID, first hunt, thanks in advance. Cool vibe to this site so I thought I would register.
#3 was from Maclay Gardens in Tallahassee, others were from other woods in North East Florida. I have a feeling that #1 and #5 are the same but just at different stages.

#1 is most likely Gymnopus and #5 is Mycena. The Amanita looks like one of the muscaria variants.

Classic Photos Mykes! Love the beauty of the pan cyanescens or the blue meanies...
What I love more than anything is the pictures after their picked and bluing heavily... then you can see the real magic..
Peace and enjoy your hunts.

I Think I found my first active!! Can anyone verify?
the cap currently Looks-Like its blueing upon certain cracks (and all over) at the cap.
Grey gill ridges, gills not connected to the stem, black spores and Jet black spore print.( instantly bruised very brownish/light,Light red at the stem instantly after considering putting it in a bag.)
some other mushroom, brown cap, gills and brown spores, white stem, no bruising at all( its stem broke and the cap got stuck to the bag with the gills facing upward, ended up breaking the stem at the base of the gills)

The photos aren't good enough to say. The first one could be Panaeolus cinctulus, but looks like it would drop brown spores which means it's Panaeolina and not active. The 2nd is too nasty and beat up to say for sure. Maybe it's a Mycena or Psathyrella.

Psilocybe cubensis and Panaeolus cyanescens are normally the two your going to find in a cow field.
