AFOAF needs help
    #1730309 - 07/19/03 02:45 PM (20 years, 8 months ago)

Hey
Someone I know has recently started his cultivation of fungus...
He has a jar that he is worried about (sorry no camera)]
He has Followed the basic PF tek
The jar is about 75% inoculated and in the spot that isnt it has a
yellow/brownish tint, and the mycelum looks as if it stopped growing
and just built up around that area... It has been this way for a few days but it looks as if the mycelum might be try to cover it...
Is this moisture problems... or is this something that he should worry about?
Thanks for the help

A pic would help. It's hard to tell by your description, it could be just about anything.

Well i don't have access to a digicam so i dont think a pic is possible but what does dried out mycelium look like?
the cakes look like the mycelium covered that part of the jar before and it got dried or possibly too wet(if that causes a yellow brownish color) but it seems that the (healthy)mycelium currently starting to cover it.

Only time will tell. If the mycelium manages to cover that part, i believe you're ok to go.
