That is an amazing scope, just wow. I would kill baby seals for that.
only $299 too

I think it would work fine for mycology, as long as it has 400x mag, minimum.

Don't see why not, with 1600x mag you can make the spore almost the size of the display screen, as long as it has a feature which brings up a micron measurement scale on the screen. if not I'm sure there are other ways, but that thing is packed down with everything and links to your computer, I'm sure it has a micron scale. Wouldn't make any sense if it didn't lol.

That scope seems like a winner and not $1300.00!

I use this one >
http://www.astroshop.eu/monocular-microscopes/bresser-microscope-biolux-nv/p,14667
I bought it in the Lidl (discount chain) for €50 a while ago. It is decent with a good magnification supposedly going to x1024. I can see individual spores and recognize them so good enough for me. Added benefit is a usb camera for taking pictures!

I've owned a ton of Barska Optics for my firearms, They are supreme and generally compete with rifle scopes far exceeding their price range. With that being said i'd take the gamble on the 300$ digital microscope.

How big is the object your looking at through the scope on your firearm?

Ziess and Nikon are two optical companies making lab grab microscopes that also make highly venerated rifle scopes of great quality.... Sorry you don't see the correlation between great optics company turning out great optics...

Then again your right for 200$-$300 you can get a darn nice used microscope and circumvent the gamble!

I have a Nikon Labophot.  It has a trinocular head / teaching scope attachment into which I have inserted a USB web-camera which is parfocal with the bino-head.  My entire computer monitor is the "screen".

I have to agree with NoFace To Save.  Its all about the optics.  If that scope had good glass AND good focus mechanics, you'll be pleased.  Has anyone who purchased it done a product review?  I'd start there.

N.B.

Ditto.  Same one I got.  I am just lacking the camera adapter.  It is on the list though.  Awesome scope.
Where did you get your Canon adapter?

He went out of his way to find me a matching photo tube for it as well...
So that way i could use my camera in the trinoc port and not pointed down an eyepiece...

The Camera adapter i use...
