I'm mad at my Lipa's

Hey everybody. I know a kid who has done both cakes and casings with Lipa Yai cubensis, the cakes took 2 weeks to pin without a cold shock and with 12 hours of light a day. The casing is currently about to start fruiting, it has been in his terrarium for about 12 days with no signs of hyphal knots or anything. My friend gave it a good hearty 36 hour cold shock, why isn't it pinning? Do Lipas always take this long to fruit? Are Thai strains just a waste of time or what? If anyone who has more experience than I do could gimme some feedback that would be awesome.

Ive noticed that they do take a little longer to fruit than most cubensis strain. Don't bother with cold shock, keep it in incubator conditions till you see the mycelia begin to come up through the casing layer (but not colonize on top) then begin to fruit.

I like them and all, but I am getting mad at how long it takes them to fruit. I don't know if I am doing something wrong or not, but to my knowledge I am near perfect with growing conditions.

Lipa Yai's pin slower than Thai ks but have an above average speed. If you wan't a strain to complain aobut speed wise try orissa or Treasure Coast. Lipa's also yeild very heavily...

What?! Treasure Coast is one of that fastest. According to sporeworks (before they quit describing growing conditions) they are one of the fastest. Thats why I got them for my first grow. They covered all my jars in less than a week, then the casing in just over a week, then matured five days. I was happy with their speed, if not their yield

..strange.. Lipa's always pin incredibly easily I find.. quite often start getting pins before the jars are even 100% colonised..
