take mushrooms and meditate the addiction away. Or LSD or Mescaline.

That depends, do you want the quick and easy fix, or the long hard brutal fix?

Also is it your addiction or someone else's?

Usually take the uprooting of one's life to get it back on track. Plus it'll always be there, pops up at the strangest times in various forms.

Mind control, learn to control your mind son..

You have to want to stop, then you have to be persistent, and have a little self control and power over your own head.

The thing with addictions, is that it's never about the thing that you're addicted to. The thing that you're addicted to is just a way usually of distracting yourself from something really difficult/painful/deficient underneath. Abstaining from the thing is one thing, but there is a lot associated with it. If you don't want to be addicted to something else in a years time, or suffering from some kind of compulsivity or depression etc. you'll need to address a lot of stuff way deep down inside. You'll need to fundamentally re-arrange how you think of yourself and the way you look at the world. You'll need to learn a lot about who you are.

I guess the good thing is you'll end up a much much happier/more serene person at the end of it, so it's a good thing to work towards.

Often it's impossible to even address those things while actively addicted, so first, cut off whatever it is you're addicted to, as a very preliminary step.

It's not like we can explain everything here. Beating an addiction is basically a full time job. And it'll take years to do right.

This. A single life-changingly high dose of 5-MeO-MIPT totally destroyed my problems with eating for over a month. If it does the same for your drug addiction, seeing as you don't have to eat every day, you could stop forever, I'm sure.

It is synthetic. What's the difference between a chemical which occurs naturally in nature and a chemical which does not?

Persistence & hard work. Theres no magic button that makes it stop. You can't just eat mushrooms and "meditate it away". Psychedelics can help, but that doesn't mean they always do. They've helped me in the past, but they didn't cure shit & just wound up being part of the cycle. It's also not as simple as going to rehab and meetings. You really have to want it. I kicked many times, only to go back to using. Then I just reached a point where enough was enough. I can't really put it into words, but I knew that it was over. My life was a wreck, and the drugs didn't even work anymore, yet I couldn't stop.

I went into inpatient rehab, then did 6 months of outpatient. I went to meetings every day, I had a sponsor, a home group, wrote on steps & used the tools I learned. I licked up new hobbies, started taking care of myself, picked a career path & went back to school. Eventually I stopped doing the meetings. I'm coming up on 3 years clean, and lately it's been a struggle. I'm still an addict, just a recovering one now as opposed to an actively using one. It has it's ups & downs, and when I take my focus off of my recovery things fucked up inside of me. It's kinda hard to explain.

 No you wouldn't. Addiction doesn't work like that. You can't just stop on a whim like that. The fact that you made that statement verifies your first statement of not believing you are addicted, which is a good thing.
