Harvesting from a cluster
    #17052698 - 10/18/12 04:09 AM (11 years, 5 months ago)

Hi,

I'm new to growing. I've purchased a grow kit which is soon to yield its first flush. However, the mushrooms have come out in clusters. Thus, some more developed fruits are attached to lesser developed fruits. I've heard that the mushrooms should be picked before they release their spores. However, I do not want to pick a whole cluster just for the sake of one fully developed fruit.

-should I pick the whole cluster?

-should I wait for the whole cluster to develop and risk the release of              spores into the grow bag?

-Or should I rip the developed mushrooms away from the cluster; and let the others further develop?

The mushrooms are b+ Cubensis, grown from a mycelium box, inside a grow bag.

Thanks, any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you know what to do, could you explain to me exactly: as I am new to this.

Thanks.

Didn't you post this exact same thing yesterday?

I believe the answer to your question was to just cut the cap off the mature one whilst leaving the others untouched, with the option of making a spore print out of the severed cap.

I'm on these forums way too often.

Wow...
Did you really need to do that?
I am trying to find an exact answer; and also get a good cross section of opinion, so that I can be sure I do it correctly.

If you couldn't figure this out, then I'd rather you didn't bother answering at all.

If you don't have an answer, then, be off with you.

Thanks

Posting a new thread isnt the way to do that. You can simply bump your old thread, no need to clutter up the forums.

Just cut off the developed cap and leave the rest to grow.

What answer are you LOOKING for? You have been given the correct way to do it in this thread and the other thread you made last night .. So what are you wanting to do?
