Yeah never a problem with boiling - although 25 minutes seems a bit low for security, let it go for an hour, what's the rush?

I boiled my jars, but fractionally tyndllized them.

Boiled for an hour 1 day.

left to cool over night. Endospores germinate.

Boiled next day for 1 hour.

left a day.

Inoculate. I haven't had a single contam yet.

What do you suggest good times to boil is. Get it to a boil and then set it on low (3-5) for an hour. I want to sterilize w/o the cake drying out.

1 hour at light boil, not splattering everywhere. Put a towel on the bottom of the pot so that the jars don't shatter. Fractional sterilization is not necessary for BRF IMO.

boil the water
put jars in, reduce temperature slightly (75%)
boil for 50 mins, to 70 mins.
let them cool in the pot and water over night.
leaving them in the pot and still hot water will allow it to cool even more gradually.

after letting it sit over night, remove your tin foil and innoculate

hope this solves all doubt

My kitten hasn't had any contams (so far...) with her jars and she boiled.  She just got a huge steamer pot and boiled the water in it for 70 minutes then let it cool overnight.  Should work for you.

Around 90% success rate. But i'm pretty sure that the 10% contamination rate is due most of the time to bad inoculation techniques.

I found it easier to screw up at inoculation.
