Cake refridgeration

I need to leave town for three weeks, but I don't want to interrupt my growth cycle; what would happen to cakes injected with spores and left unnatended for three weeks? Could they still be birthed and fruited? Could the mycelium growth be slowed but not stopped by leaving the cakes in a fridge? (at about four or five degrees Celcius)

sure. put them in a clean-air-filled bag, inside another bag to avoid contams. most fridges are full of bugs.

I've placed jars in the refrigerator for up to two weeks without negative issues. It slowed growth to a crawl. Just be sure to protect them well.

If you do not have visible mycelium in the jars before placing them in the refrigerator, they will not begin to grow until you remove them.

Because growth in the refrigerator is not your goal, air exchange will not be necessary. Tape over the holes to prevent contamination and drying.

Just a quick update; Ainasko was once again right on the money. The growth in the jars virtually halted, and in jars which showed no growth when put into the fridge, there was zero growth. All jars resumed a perfectly healthy growth cycle when returned to the incubater. The jars were in the fridge for twenty days at a temperature of around 3 degrees Celcius, and growth was virtually identical between jars with the lid holes taped over and jars inside an air filtered mycobag.
