Passion Flower Tea- I HIGHly recommend it!
    #16502842 - 07/09/12 07:42 AM (11 years, 9 months ago)

I'm sure most of you have heard or tried it, but I'm going to share it again anyway!
Passion flowers grow abundantly in my area, on roadsides, the edges of woods, near bushes and fences.
When you make it into a tea (I'm making my morning tea right now,) it has strong sedative effects. Here is something I've found on the web about it...

Passion flower tea may help in calming and sedating the nerves and combating anxiety. It can thus help in ushering restful sleep.

Passion flower tea may help relax the muscles.

Passion flower tea may help improve blood circulation, as well as lower blood pressure.

Passion flower tea may help lessen headaches, toothaches and pain associated with colic, the menstrual cycle and asthma.

Passion flower tea may be a helpful component in the treatment of Parkinson's Disease.

Passion flower tea may be helpful in treating back pain as it is known to depress the motor nerves of the spinal cord.

Passion flower tea may help alleviate nausea and vomiting due to withdrawal from Vicodin, cocaine, heroin, or opiate painkillers.

Passion flower tea may be helpful in men who produce excessive estrogen as the herb can help stimulate production of testosterone.

Now, here's how you make it. Quite simple, really.
Figure out if you have any of these flowers in your area, they look like this:

This is the most common strain, but if you have seen a flower similar, it is probable that it will work just as well.
Then, once you find the plant, mark it and take good care of it. You might want to take a cutting or something, or take some seeds for the next spring.
Anyway, after you have a plant, take say... 20 leaves, if it's a large plant. Try not to dammage it.
Leaves look like this.

(On the second pic, that's just water.)

Take about 20, wash them over in the sink, then crush them up and add them to a glass... boil some water, and pour just enough to cover the leaves, for best results. Stir, let it steep for about an hour or so, two if you wana be extreme... Strain, add lots of honey, enjoy.
Don't do this before operating heavy machinery, as it has a nice sedation effect. This would be great for a sudden bout of insomnia.

I like to drink mine in the morning, before I have anything else in my stomach-- I find it is a great substitute for pot (for me) and can nearly be euphoric...

Warnings: These contain small amounts of MAOI (MAIO?)'s, are vasodilators, and sedatives.
Enjoy.

P.S., I'm not sure why I made this, I'm sure it's a shitty post, but this might not be known to some people.. I don't want to bother formatting it. So, take it as it is. If you don't like it, well... go suck a cow udder.

Haha, no problem! I love the font on your sig, it reminds me of Pokemon...
Fuckin' love pokemon.. I play crystal on a daily basis...

Seriously, you should try this tea. It's my favorite legal high. Very relaxing, almost like an opiate, without the devastating effects.
Brew it strong, and drink it on an empty stomach, if you really wana see how awesome it is.

Not bad, I usually put a shittons of honey in mine.
It's not bitter, but it tastes like leaves sometimes...
If you throw in a tea bag, you won't even notice the taste of the leaves.
Also, if you made your own tea bag with -DRIED- leaves, I think that would get rid of the leafy taste.

Tastes good, man.

I think you can get the leaves dried online for like $1.50 a pound, Ellan. But you should look into your area and see if you can get it for
FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Plus, it's a beautiful plant worth growing in the springtime.
Seriously, I'm making a morning glory/passionflower garden next spring, it will be absolutely beauutiful.

No problem, man!
Remember, it works best if your stomach isn't filled with food, and you can brew it as strong as you need!
I mean, don't hold me legally accountable when you're the first instance of someone overdosing on it, but, you get my point ^,^
Also, some people use it as a sexual simulator, I believe.
Enjoy!
:youshouldtapthat:
:bondage:

Just remember, it's a vasodilator. Ie, it will make your blood either thinner, or dilate your.... vaso's.
Hahahahahaha god this stuff is great

I'm just taking leaves from my garden, I notice slight behavioral shifts with a small glass of 20 leaf brew.
Not sure what that translates to with tea and smoke, brah. I suggest you buy shittons of dried leaves, and experiment for yourself :P
Start out with like... a half cup of it, see what happens. I think the worst that could happen to you is your blood sugar could drop down too far and you could pass out?
I dunno, build your way up to a nice comfortable level.
I don't have faith in smoking it, I fear the heat would kill the alkaloids.

I've been using passion flower in tincture form, along with ashwagandha and valerian.
I was diagnosed with general anxiety disorder a few weeks ago and the tincture cocktail seems to help calm my thought patterns. That and eliminating daily cannabis consumption.

Harmine's vaporization point is high, like 640f. so smoking is a viable roa. and is slightly more potent when smoked.

I may be mistaken, but I'm under the impression that the concentrations of harmine are really too low to be utilized, and that other active chemicals result in the tranquility experienced upon drinking a tea made from this plant.
I could be completely wrong.
Regardless, Bump, maybe some other people might like to read this

A lot of erowid responses were mixed when it came to smoking, but I read I think on erowid that drinking a tea then smoking a Pashion extract rly gets things going.
