Throwing up...

Method of ingestion has always been dried ground down to a fine powder and swallowed with some liquid..water, juice, whatever...about 3g or so. Used to not throw up like ever...but lately seems to happen each time...like the last 3 or so times anyway. not sure if it is this latest strain not agreeing with me or what. but wanted to post a general question to all to contribute their feeling, thoughts, tips on the whole "throwing up" issue. better to eat before, or not? better to take something that helps with the stomach, or not? etc etc. happy tripping.

This is from what I've read:
Don't eat at least 12 hours before you dose. Take 2-4 ginger capsules before you begin to take your shrooms. Try not to have excessive movement. Relax and accept what comes. Don't worry about throwing up...just ease into things. *Relaxxxxx*
I hope this is good advice.
Good luck

Eat light the day of the trip, dont worry and just chillout. Umm, the rest are well known or method of stuff so w/e. If you didn't used to throw up just chill for abit, probably bad luck.

If you threw up almost right after you took them you might have developed a taste aversion, otherwise it's just the trip, so refer to above Tea or an alcohol extraction usually help, too. -- Micro

too many shrooms can give you ulcers too. A friend of mine has a bad stomache because of too many shrooms, but then again he ate probably 1/2 lb over the course of 2 months.

I tried fasting before eating shrooms, and didn't eat anything 4 hours before ingestion, by the time I was able to eat again it'd been 10 hours strait without eating a thing, and the end of my trip was getting shitty because of my lack of blood sugar.

i had a bit of an issue with food during my last trip where I had fasted before hand. I couldn't think of anything that appealed to me to eat, then I saw the fruit bowl, and just grabbed some apples and stuff. Sorted me out properly

Is your sickness caused by fruit picked from the same batch, or from different batches or sources? If it is all from the same source, you might have a hidden contamination in there that is causing your problems.

Mushrooms don't cause ulcers. It used to be throught that diet and things that cause irritation to the stomach lining like alcohol, aspirin, smoking and caffeine caused ulcers, but the latest research has found that infection with helicobacter pylori bacteria is actually the cause of 90% of them.

Alex123 is correct. I went through the exact same thing. When I first started eating mushrooms, I never got nauseous, ever. But lately Ive been getting sick every time I take them. I think perhaps it may come with age, but I cant be sure on that. Before I eat mushrooms(cubensis) I always fast the whole day, dont consume caffeine especially. I drink only 100% fruit juices, and sparingly. This way I get energy, and when I get sick I have nothing to throw up so its just like 1/2 hr of random here and there single dry heaves. Lately though I have been consuming a little bit of fruits about 1-2hrs before ingesting, and the nausea is still there, but I still only wretch a couple of times, nothing comes up. I always thought its weird how the body rejects the mushroom as if its a poison. It seems to be intimately tied to the anxiety of the first while of the 'come up'. I am thinking (and have read before) that its because the psychoactives work on the central nervous system and invoke the 'fight or flight' response in the brain, making you puke. Hence, making the nausea purely psychosomatic. I think this is true and cant be escaped except for mental conditioning.

really didn't need to see that... WAYYY too much information!
a nice saturday night special before you take the shrooms might not only help with the nausea several minutes in, but also with actually getting them down in the first place. everything tastes different with reefer, and when you're baked you won't really notice the nausea.
also, remember the "don't panic!" law? control your breathing, that can calm down any problem if you focus enough.
by the way, why don't you guys just try different types of shrooms? if your stomach doesn't get along with cubensis, who knows, it might not have any problems with subbalteatus, or cyanescens, or azurescens. you could probably find somebody with whom to swap equally potent shrooms by mass in your area, and maybe even make a profit! for example in my area, all shrooms (any variety at all, around here most people don't know a thing about them) are $35 for 3.5 g's. So you could easily take 3.5 g's of subbalteatus and sell them for that much, then buy some cubensis with it. Cutthroat as far as being a merchant, but definately profitable. And it lets you sample different kinds.
Also, around here the subbs are actually quite nice and juicy even when dry!
