What is enlightenment?

How does one become enlightened? Is there a concrete definition? How do you know if your enlightened and does this feeling last or are they just fleeting moments when your perception is shifted?

Alright man, so all I have to do is use proper grammar and I have reached the highest state of consciousness. We, the members of the shroomery thoroughly enjoy being smart asses and avoiding the questions at hand! Yay!

Part of enlightenement = awareness. Being sloppy and not using what you know disqualifies. Zen is very much about details.

it is when all things become clear , you let go of all your fears and become one with god pushing all the super buttons on the green computer above your head which can be turned on by providing it with endless amounts of energy which flow thru the trees outside your place of rest .. dont forget to smoke a cig everytime you see god and remember it only comes in waves but also come in forms of attitude which can be transmitted thru your pineal gland and so on but not only is it god but there is something about being a super human which can be achieved by accepting then ow yes we are all immortals gods pretending to be mortals.

How does one become enlightened?
I can't speak to how others achieve enlightenment, but I do it by sitting on the toilet. Sometimes I'm enlightened by as much as several kilos this way.

Enlightenment to me changes often, however, one that seem to stick by is the realization of anti-destruction. Advancement.

I could probably explain it to you from what I have discovered and what most people consider to be enlightenment, but I don't consider it enlightenment. It isn't even a big deal imo, it's just the realization of pure awareness, which leads to an ability for control of the autonomous system.
If you look with your eyes, the images are being seen in the brain, so just find that place in the brain where the images are seen, not with the eyes, but behind the eyes.
Pure awareness is the awareness without an idea of something that you are, for that is only an idea and not what you really are.
For instance, who do you consider yourself to be, what are you and who are you?

Enlightenment as it is termed has many beliefs and connotations attached to it, most of which is plain BS, like fairy tales.
Honestly I think most of the skeptics here are closer to enlightenment then those who claim they are enlightened, because they don't accept beliefs, which is a key imo.

To me its useless/fairy tales thinking about what/who i am. I/my/your/our genes are not advanced enough to understand this yet.
I fantasize about who or what i am from time to time but i always end up with "i came out of my mother/genes".
It all lies within humanity as a whole advancing forward towards finding a universal meaning, through this, one realize what/who he/she is.
However, i always look to improve myself, i guess you could call this "who i consider myself to be".
