Never-Fill Humidifier Reservoir tek 1

Note if you would like to adapt this tek to use a a ultrasonic you will need a "valve box" that can be sealed, the positive pressure from you water source should be set LOW (read further to learn how) to avoid damaging your ultrasonic.
Warning: parts of this system operate by use of gravity, always drain system before moving/fixing/cleaning
ALWAYS KEEP THE HUMIDIFIER AND VALVE BOX LEVEL
Thing you need: Humidifier 1/2 Clear (optional but helps) tubing, length depending on how far the humidifier is from the valve box 7/16 drill bit Ballcock toilet valve a bin or bucket big enough to hold the ballcock, preferably with lid adapter(s) to connect water source to inlet of the ballcock valve
Ok so on most humidifiers your maximum fill line is about 3 inches from the bottom of its reservoir so if you were to connect a pipe from the bottom of its reservoir to the bottom of a bucket and fill it back up to thge maximum fill line you should have an equal height in water in the bucket. Using this alone you can effectively double even triple your humidifiers reservoir capacities, but this is a Never-Fill system, you just have to understand this principle first.
If your maximum fill water height is 3 inches then measure up the side of your valve box 4.5-5 inches and drill a hole there for your ballcock valve and attach. The ball cock will shut off the water from the source when the water has reached a certain high which you can adjust by just bending the rod.
Water source: I really like using household garden hose, the water pressure can be adjusted by the valve on the spicket and the hose allows you to easily move and clean, you can use several hoses in conjunction to reach very far, and you don't need to find a large bucket with deal with standing water. You can use a large bucket as long as its raised above the height of the ballcock to allow gravity to push the water, although not a Never-Fill system you could grow a few pounds before needing to fill the bucket. Remember though standing water can breed allot of microbes that you will be putting into the air with the humidifier.
Good luck, WS

ingenious! thanks for the info on using a valve box on an unltrasonic, i was wracking my brain several weeks ago trying to figure out how to do that.
