Confused - Dunk/Cold shock question

I was thinking today-should I dunk my cakes before cold shocking them? Or cold shock them and then dunk them? I can't dunk them in the fridge so that's not an option. Maybe someone can tell me. Thanks. -Mr.Sleep

why not dunk and cold shock at the same time? fill the jar with spring water then place in the fridge for less than 24 hours. some ppl use water w/ h2o2.

he just said he can't use a fridge, of course you want to do it at the same time if you can. I think dunking than cold shocking is the way to go, because you can cold shock in the fruiting chamber fairly easily using ice packs.

Wait if you can cold shock in fridge over night why not do it? Are you trying to do this in your parents house or something? Lol that explains it then... how many cakes do you have? Put them in a opaque bag and stick them in the crisper or something.

I can cold shock them, just not fit a huge ass bucket in my fridge with water in it too, ya dig? But yeah I'm living with the rents-that really doesn't effect this much at all though. They stay out of my shit-problem is no room to dunk AND cold shock at the same time. -Mr.Sleep

no dude, put the water in the jars and close them up (even put a ziplock around them). then you can sneak each jar into a separate nook in the fridge, so you won't need one large area.

Try a cooler maybe? You could dunk and cold shock at the same time...if it's clean..

i'm sure, because every time i've seen this done there is plenty of excess water that drains out when the cakes are birthed.

Oh yeah, you don't take the cakes out of the jars for BRF dunks, just add water to the jar and your good to go.

I've read before of people putting them in buckets with water and using plates/etc to hold down the cakes. But I guess I'll just do this. -Mr.Sleep
