For anyone making a SGFC/MSG/etc. (on drilling holes)

While drilling my 3 new MSG's, I found that if I used a 1/8" drill bit to initially make my holes, I was able to just stab the bit into the plastic (with the drill going of course; I don't mean just stabbing it in with no power ) without having to worry about cracking it or the drill bit sliding away from my intended point and dancing around.
Then I went back and used a 1/4" bit to bring the holes up to size.
It may seem like double the work since you're drilling the holes twice, but - at least in my case - it proved to take MUCH less effort since I was able to move from hole-to-hole very quickly. Once that was done, the 1/4" bit slid right in and out even easier than the 1/8" did.
I did this on the last two tubs and they each went faster than the first one. (or at least they felt like it since they took so much less effort - I wasn't timing it or anything)
Just thought I'd share.

Oh man good idea!
When I did my first SGFC I remember wishing I could easily soak it in hot water - never thought about the sun. Duh!

Lots of people put a piece of scrap wood behind their drilling projects.

That's what I do. About as easy as it gets .

Laying out grid lines in pen On the sides of the tub helps too, you can get all the holes lined up with each other. And you can clean off any material left behind by the drill with a tool called a countresink.
