2 cakes not fruting

I have two cakes in my terranium that are not fruiting. They have been in there for about 4 days, and one of the cakes has one shroom that looks like it's dying. I have four other cakes in my terranium that are doing well, in fact, they've already been harvested.
The temperature is around 73 degrees, with 24 hours of light. Humdity is high and the setup is being fanned 3x a day. One of the cakes is getting really fluffy with mycelium, and the other like all the others but just with a sick shroom. Should I just wait a couple of more days, or through them out? I have another cake that is is an isolated quick fix terranium that I would like to put in my terranium, I just haven't had time to build another good one yet.

Wait like another week before you do anything irrational. It also sounds like you need to lay off the light. That wont kill it but 24 hours of light is just un-necessary, try like 4 hours of light a day. What is the humidity like in your terrarium? Maybe it's not moist enough in there. Does the cakes that are giving you a prob. smell funkey?

I'm using an overhead light, which is the only source of heat for my terranium. I have tried turning it off, but found that the temperatue drops to the mid to high 60's. If the light is bad, I could cover the plexiglass on the top though.
I haven't smelled the two cakes because I read in another post that this can be potentially harmful. They appear to be fine though. One of the cakes with the semi dead mushroom (it just is stalling) had multiple small mushrooms on the bottom of the cake when I birthed it. Those mushrooms haven't appeared. The only thing I can think of with the other cake is that it is partially below my fish tank bubble (my container holding the bubbler is elevated). It might be getting wet. I've decied to construct another terranium tomorrow or the next day, and will be transferring the two "bad" cakes to that one to make room for my one that is doing well.

First off don't freak.
The fluffy myc that is growing on the cakes is usually due to high temps and humidity, therefore causing the cakes to stall in incubation mode, that is why myc is still growing.
You can sniff healthy cakes as much as you want, its like smelling a fresh mushroom, no harm done. Don't smiff contamed cakes though
As for lighting. 24 hours does seem a little excessive. I have mine on 12 hours, 12 hours off. If keeping the temp up is a problem, maybe you want to think about investing a small amount of money in a fish tank heater. You take two rubbermaids, fill one with some water, put the heater in there, put the cake terrarium on top of that terrarium and wala! You have a pretty nice set up that will give consistent temp. Some adjusting may be needed.
In addition, 4 days in the fruiting chamber is nothing. Depending on the cake it may take as long as a week or even long for it to start pinning. If you dunked them and refrigerated them, it will probably take a good week before you see actual vivid pins forming.
If there is a mushroom that just seems like it is rotting or turning black, what I do is rip it off. The reason being that those "worthless" mushrooms will commence using up valuable nutrients, nutrient that could be shifted to another mushroom that isn't rotting or abhorting. So its basically just shafting other mushrooms from getting bigger.
Hope this help. GL

He would do that, but from what he said it seems like the light is a source of valuable heat right now.
