Planning a trip to Jamaica. Going to stay a week at an all-inclusive resort. I'm pretty excited about it.
Would love to hear any experiences and/or tips from those who've been there. This will be my first time in Jamaica.

You can't go to Jamaica without watching Cool Runnings first.

I went on jamcruise this past jamuary and we stopped in Jamaica. It was nice all the people were friendly. They were offering us lots of blow and the ganja was overpriced.....beautiful warm beaches......

Ive been to Jamaica. It have friends in Ocho Rios. Beautiful country. Stay out of Kingston. Marijuana is only legal at Bob Marley's house. If and when you get pulled over by police, stash drugs in GF purse. They cant search a purse without a female officer present.
That is all you need to know.

Not going to Kingston. Probably will stay on the resort 95% of the time we're there.
I know weed is not legal there but I've been given the impression that it is tolerated for the most part and basically comes to you whether you look for it or not. Accurate or no?

You will find it. Cops like to hassle white people for it though. Chances are, your resort will have a dude who lives in a shack nearby that sells pot and coke to tourist in the resort. May i ask where you are staying? Montego Bay?

I've been once. about 10 years ago.
You will have no trouble finding weed.
Do not buy from the first guy who offers it to you on the bus from the airport. His shit looks/smells good and sounds cheap until you realize you're not in America anymore.
Find it for 1/4 the price (and better quality) from real locals, not the guys who stake out the tourists spots.
If you look like you might be a stoner you will get plenty of offers.
Don't be afraid to say no. There is no shortage of weed.

Right on. Good part of the island. Like i said, be careful outside the resort. Also the jerk food you will see everywhere is amazing. Also dont underestimate a Jamaican driver. Those fuckers are crazy. They fly down the mountains with 8 people to car going 80 mph.

As far as weed goes, I'm hoping someone just offers it without me bringing it up directly. I've been given the impression that mentioning Bob Marley inevitably brings up the topic. I may even bring a BM t-shirt just in case!
When you say cops like to "hassle" white people for it, how far do they take this? My plan is to mostly smoke only in my room, but it would be nice to have a spliff on the beach without being

They will search your vehicle if you leave the resort. They look for white people to hassle. Just keep a woman with you if you got drugs. If you dont have a woman, $100USD will do the trick.

This is right in line with what I've heard. I don't look like a stoner but like I said I was thinking about wearing a Bob Marley tee-shirt or something to help send out the right vibe.
How is the quality there? Easy to get kind bud?

Throwing on a bob marley shirt should do the trick. Probably not even necessary.
I didn't really look like a stoner, was offered at least 5 times the first day.
Quality was excellent.
Outdoor bud so it's kinda stringy/leafy.
Looks like crap if you're used to perfectly trimmed MMJ.
Smokes good though.
Remember weed is kind of like a religion there. You will not be disappointed.

This is something I never understood...People that go out of the country, on vacation, to spend almost the entire time at a resort or within the touristy areas. What's the point? Why not just find a resort in your own country and save money?
I mean if I am going on vacation, especially out of the country, I would want to immerse my self in the culture, explore the area, get off the beatin' tourist path, etc...Not spending time doing things I could be doing back at home.

If you go to Bob Marley's house at the end of the school day. Try 5pm. Little kids will sell you OZ bags of nugs for $50.

SERIOUSLY, what's the point of staying in a resort and spending money on shit you can get at home. Waste of a trip.
