Democratic women seek a state ban on vasectomies for men

This is actually pretty clever.
“Thousands of children are deprived of birth in this state every year because of the lack of state regulation over vasectomies,” said Rep. Yasmin Neal, author of the bill. “It is patently unfair that men can avoid unwanted fatherhood by presuming that their judgment over such matters is more valid than the judgment of the General Assembly, while women’s ability to decide is constantly up for debate throughout the United States.”

If Rick Scrotusum gets elected as President, he is ready to mandate bedroom cameras to make sure you don't use rubbers when you fuck.

The act is really more of a satire made to criticize abortion restrictions.
House Minority Leader Stacey Abrams added, “The Republican attack on women’s reproductive rights is unconscionable. What is more deplorable is the hypocrisy of HB 954’s author. If we follow his logic, we believe it is the obligation of this General Assembly to assert an equally invasive state interest in the reproductive habits of men and substitute the will of the government over the will of adult men.”

They are comparing vasectomy with abortion?
Wouldn't tubal ligation be a more appropriate comparison? I just don't get it.

True, but:
"This afternoon, the House Judiciary (Non-Civil) Committee will take up HB 954, a measure that would prohibit abortions on women who are more than 20 weeks pregnant. Current law prohibits abortions after the second trimester, or about 24 weeks."

Women can get their tubes tied if they like, no problem.
I personally think it's unfair that only a woman has a choice to abort the baby. As a man, if I get a woman pregnant and don't wish to raise the baby or pay child support, it should be my right to abort the baby.

Unless the woman signs off on ever receiving child support for that baby.

What one person receives without working for another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for that my dear friend is the beginning of the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it. ~ Adrian Rogers

And yet it is debated in every election cycle, in Congress, and state legislatures all the time. In addition, there have been several high profile cases clarifying and modifying the ruling in Roe v. Wade.
Seems like the discussion is open to me

and in 40 years how many times has it come close to being overturned it even actually back in the courts... from what I've seen, the abortion argument is no more than a liberal scare tactic."the rebublicans are trying to ban abortion" in actuality, they're not doing shit on abortion, conservatives dont believe in legislation from the bench or encroachment of the federal government into our personal lives. issues like abortion and prohibition belong on the state level, not the federal level

Abortion belongs to the decision of the parents. No law should concern your body.

then surely you can show us these debates, not something in the presidential debates, those congressional debates, the modifications, what were they really? what was changed?

and if there's no law protecting the right of women to terminate the pregnancy then what's left for them if it's outlawed, go to another state? have a back alley abortion?

edit: I don;t need to get involved in an abortionn debate on the shroomery.
I'll just say I did't think it was very clever. I thought it was pretty stupid actually.

Okay. But I think it really depends on what it is. Environmental regulation, then you might be right. But when it comes to many things that can be considered a "sin" in policy debates, then you are so far from correct.
You can read about the cases since Roe V Wade here
