heating question

i am setting up a 10 gallon in my sisters closet in the basement of her house, the basement is cold so i will need some kinda supplimental heat, i was thinking about useing a heating pad set on low with like a thin towel between it

will this work?
will it be to hott

after 20 beers getting punched in the face 10 times and breaking your nose doesnt hurt.....
but the next morning you will wake up with blood all over you and wonder why your nose hurts and say "what the fuck happened"

Here these may help.
1)search, Use this before asking Search
2)What type of things You may find when you use it.
3)This is one way I reccomend.
