(AUS) USA Voltage

I have a unit designed for USA voltage, Can anyone tell me the cheapest route on using this unit in Aus? It's a 110v adapter I believe and I'll need an international adapter as it is already. The unit is an Acculab VICON 303.

Look at the transformer on the scale. It might already be set up to accept any voltage from 110 - 220. If so, you just need an adapter. If not, you need a step-down transformer to convert 220V to 110V.

I'll look into a step-down transformer? Are they costly?

Shouldn't be too much. $20 at the most, I think.

Because it only draws 55 mA, I don't think your step down transformer should require a high wattage.
6.6 W by my calculations, but I suck at physics.

Just be careful when i was about 12 my dad refused to let me use his computer i then switched the PC voltage to US via the red switch unintentionally (thought it disconnected power as a joke). He then turned the computer on and the powersupply exploded all i can say that there was alot of smoke.
