I haven't tried it but I don't like the concept. The only reason Spotify exists is to make money for Spotify, and the labels who choose to make a deal with them.  It doesn't help the current situation of increasingly generic music and decline in both musical and production value and it doesn't provide any incentive for artist and distribution companies to develop creative ways to present/produce music.

The only reason Spotify is seen as a possible next best thing is because most people just shamelessly download every last bit of whatever music they think they might want to be entertained by and Spotify is being developed as the least painful alternative for the "Consumer" who could almost just as easily download shit for free.  If people decided to be modern art patrons and went to the website of artists they liked and gave a few dollars in exchange for the music/package then artists would have actual incentive to innovate how their art is presented or maybe even develop new forms of music and push the whole tradition forward.  As it stands, Spotify is only slightly better, if at all, for the artist, then having no capital reward at all for their efforts.

I love Spotify.  I don't pay for it but I love sharing my music and listening to other people's music.  I sync it with facebook so I can view all my friend's music/playlists.  I find lots of good shit off Spotify by subscribing to my friend's playlists who are up on the new new.

If I find shit I like...THEN I download it and put it on my ipod.  But a lot of times I don't even download it...my hard drive isn't that large and if I'm just going to play the music off my computer, why download when it's right on spotify?

It's pretty sweet
