no rain atall Blaze...gonna have to innoculate so 30 days from now when it`s still dry i can call up TeKnut and invite him over so he wont think i am blowing smoke about my picking area...last year at this time it was busting at the seams...2 yrs ago when Tropical storm Allison hit us there was all kinds of shrooms everywhere. Now that i am in tune with the shroomery i cannot wait till i can post pics so MJ , Mr Mushrooms , Angry an all the others can help with identifying all that is to be found...Hoping for the storms so we can see all the wonders nature provides....

96 was one of our worst droughts in recent history. of course in 98 we had our "100 year flood" then we had another "100 year flood" in 2002. but 96 was dry as a bone i think we had like one shower, not even rain just a little drizzle, like all summer long that year. we had a ranch then and all i can remember is my grampa bitching about the price of hay...

Usually the P. antillarusms dominate the fields when the Cubes and Copes are not in abundance.

haven't you noticed that one species always dominates until another appears nd then the old ones leave and make way for another speices.

mj

Yes there might be a few cubes when P. antillarums are up but when cubes are up there will only be a few antillarums.

Sopmetimes they grow near each other as inthis next photo I am posting here.

very interesting info- Never really thought of it like that. But very tru, whenever I've found Copes there isn't a single cube near it, but there are Antillarums.

I stand corrected MJ, as always-

nice pic by the way. where was it taken?
