December 5, 1967 Jimi Hendrix / Pink Floyd show * 1
    #15471149 - 12/05/11 07:11 PM (12 years, 4 months ago)

How much would you jizz if you had been at the December 5, 1967 Jimi Hendrix show with Pink Floyd as the opener?  That's SO fucking epic.  I mean, Jesus Christ.

:ooo:

Definitely, but I'd have much rather seen the 1969 Hendrix and 1975 Floyd in the same show.  Keep in mind in 1967 Hendrix had JUST become popular in the USA and only had Are You Experienced, FLoyd had just released Piper at the Gates of Dawn that same year.  Pink Floyd didn't even really get good until Dark Side in 1973

I'd rather fry to Jimi Hendrix Experience-era Hendrix and Piper-era Floyd though.

Okay, good.  I just wanted to see if you guys would be interested before I revealed my secret.  See, I have a time machine.  I can go to any year, but I can only go to the day that it is currently.  I've been waiting for December 5th so I could go see the show.  Would you guys like to go with me?  The only problem is that I may not be able to get us back, so there are risks.

I've only done this once before!

2C-E?  Where we're going we don't need 2C-E.

I'd love to go back to 1967 and have the time of my life in the late '60s.

I've always mused over the idea of traveling back to 1966, produce a pound or so of MDMA, then give out a good dose to everyone at Woodstock.  It's wasn't illegal back then!  Then I'd throw a huge rave and freak everyone out

NO!  You CAN NOT bring anything back.  I found this out the hard way.  I went back to the day I was born in 1978 and brought back some heady acid tabs.  When I got back I realized that I had altered history for the worse by that one simple act.  Now Jimi Hendrix died in 1970.  He was still alive and playing when I went back.  Sorry guys.

Completely disagree. Piper is fucking fantastic and you need to check out Meddle. Also, in my opinion, Live at Pompeii was the best thing they ever did.

I would have loved to go to this show; but, personally, I'd opt out for a Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane, and Janis Joplin with Big Brother and the Holding Company circa the same year at the Fillmore. :awesomenod:

Meddle, Wish You Were Here and Animals were the best albums without Syd and PATGOD is one of the psychedelic albums of all time.

all the rest of them suck and/or are overrated.

HA

obscurred by clouds might be the most underrated album of all time. no one ever talks about it and it's phenomenal.

Meddle was good but DSOTM is the best, and yes I've heard every floyd record.

Of course there is a certain amount of opinion involved but DSOTM seems like they finally knew who they were as a band, and they were about to start experimenting and making magic.

I would have loved to have been there! These are my favourite two classic psychedelic artists!

yeah, it's some of their film score work. i guess people don't really consider that and More.

and A Saucerful of Secrets is often ignored too, even though it was still pretty damn awesome.
