Does benzo wd happen that fast? I thought it'd be quite okay with such long half-life/duration
yeah gaba withdrawals are not cool
as long as you don't wake up from sleep because you have to redose then you're good to go
Showering always helps although the colds/sweats can be very hard... what you experiencing?

Yeah it's rough, when I was abusing benzos I was doing 5-6mg of alprazolam a day for a few months. The withdrawals were hellish and I would not wish them on anyone. At least I didn't seize. Take care brother, you should be feeling fine in a few days. Just be sure to try and get plenty of rest and eat healthily.

My rule for benzos is even stricter than my opiate rule. No more than 2 doses in a month, I never want to experience that hell ever again.

Since you doses weren't too excessive and you were only on them for two weeks I would suggest jumping right off. Why extend the pain if you don't have to?

I cant w/d off of benzos no matter how much i abuse em.

I would stick with weed if you can instead of alcohol. You're just prolonging the feeling and it'll go away relatively quick with that short of a time dosed. Speaking from experience with much longer windows of usage.

The thing with benzo's of a longer half-life is that the withdrawals are weaker but last much longer. So you will have to incorporate them into a cost benifit analysis. If you are looking for something that will keep you stable for a longer period of time I would recommend diazepam, clonazepam, or phenazepam. Those three have long duration of action and extremely long half-lifes. Instead of being on a benzo daily, have you tried kava kava? Could be effective and help limit your dosing until they are absoulutly needed.

In my experience, none.
I understand what you mean. I've been through multiple regimens of benzos and even though I'm still shaking off the every day drinking I acquired after I stopped last time I still look at my bottles every day and think about how nice it is, in the short run. Thing is, when you're on benzos all the time your mental condition breaks down much quicker than the physical. W/d isn't fun(and just wait until you take em for months/years..), but you'll eventually get to the point where your memory is so impaired you can't effectively do things you need to and your life pretty much stops progressing. Get out while you're ahead my friend.
Why were you taking the Xanax, out of curiosity?

I still can't say that I don't like benzos.
...
THis is called addiction

In fact, I absolutely love them. They are such awesome drugs. They don't "dumb me down" like they do others. Shit, my sales are up, my interaction with women is resulting in MUCH more positive results, and I am a very anxious person in general.
this is WHY they are addictive.
The effects wont last forever and you will find your sales and relationships suffering greatly as a result of your addiction.
YOu will tell yourself that as long as you have the meds you will be able to avoid "the great collapse". THing is, the day will come , when for some reason you WONT have your meds but you WILL have lots of shit to get done and the downward spiral will begin.

Out of curiosity, I read that other benzos like valium have a longer half life, therefore are less susceptible to horrible withdrawals
THIS just means a longer time until you withdraw as well as longer withdrawls

This is the truth but when you're addicted, your brain will have 1000 ways to rationalize around this fact. But it IS fact. Drugs like this you develop tolerence, so you either take more or the effects fade away. You simply cannot win and then there is hell to pay for just as long, if not longer than all the heaven it gave you.
