My first hunt ever!!

I went on my first hunt this weekend, and this is what i found

I have know idea what they are? they looked kool so i took some pics. Then a i kept looking around i fonud these

A true morel, my very first one :smile:

Sad to say, but that was the only one i found :mad:

no, but they are quite tasty! i sliced the one i found up and sautee'd it in some olive oil and served it to my parents.

i just went on my first mushroom hunt...its been raining on and off for a few days here in MD, and today it was hot and humid...me and my brother searched a few horse fields, found lots of mushrooms growing out of the horse poo, but none that were magic...at least i don't think so.

none of the ones we picked blued at all when picked. im making some spore prints just to check them out though.

Nice morel.

The others look like Coprinus micaceus, a mushroom everybody seems to be finding right now. To verify this ID, look closely at the top of the cap (a magnifier helps) for some tiny mica-like particles (sort of like glitter). If there are any, then that's what they are. If there aren't any, sometimes they wash off, and there are some other Coprinus species which look really similar.

the mica caps are everywher right now.
i went to columbia ca yesterday and found some growing from an old stump right next to a candy shop.
