 bulk grow(straw)+fishtanks HELP

My roommate had to move out and he left me a bunch of equipment
-10 and 30 gallon fishtanks
- air stones
-air pump
-lights
-2 bails of straw
-sporeprints
He talked me into trying my handd at mycology
please suggest a tek that i could follow, best utilization of space.....he mentioned someting about a incubation tank and a growing tank??

Incubating is outdated info unless it gets below 60F in the room you are growing in.
I'm not really versed in straw balls, although I've done straw bags with Oyster mushrooms.
Q. Do you have a pressure cooker?
Q. Do you have canning jars?
Q. Do you have a syringe?
You're going to need something nutritious for those spores to germinate in. Most people use grains if they own a pressure cooker. Or brown rice flour and vermiculite if they don't own a PC.
I can suggest teks but I gotta know what your capable of getting/using.

Step 1: Forget everything you think you know about growing and everything
your friend has told you.

Step 4: Order a spore syringe or create your own with the spore prints:

Also use the search function to look up different methods of making spore
syringes. You are going to need a glove box and you will need to learn
some level of aseptic technique to turn those prints(that are hopefully
aseptic) into spore syringes.

well i got:
-presure cooker
-a glove box with 1 sterile spore print in there(i haven't opened it since the spores got there)
and one jar of colonized coffee grounds
no jars but i have glass cups??
something automated would be good

Heres an idea, go buy some gold fish to use most of that equipment, then read up on what is currently a better setup. A cheap plastic tub and some jars would be a good place to start. Or sell the tanks on craigslist and use that money to start a more successful venture.

THANKS everyone i just traded one of the fishtanks for like 4 tubs. evilmushroom666 thats sound the most ideAL...I M going to utilize the tubs for cakes and mabi experiment with the straw n fistank strawlogs idk....

First you need to look up info on how to get the spores into a syringe safely. Then get any mason jars you can glass jam jars whatever just sterilize them alcohol boiling water however. You need a substrate to put the spores on i suggest looking at a grow kit online amd getting those materials ie rye grain syringes self healing injection filters. Thats how you start post more when you have that covered dont get the spores ready until fully ready to rock. Buy the book invisible marijuana it has a nice section on mushrooms. Or just hop on youtube.

If OP were to buy rye grain from the internet, it would already be sterilized and sold in a grow bag. What would he need the jars or injection filters for? If it weren't sterilized, he'd need a PC and there's no point buying anything but spores offline if that's the case.

When making up syringes, it's a good idea to get the spores ready before fully ready to rock. It takes a couple days to rehydrate them first.
