 assaulted by a german shepard

so i was coming home yesterday and there was a german shepard sitting at the start of my long, windy, wooded driveway barking at me. i honked at him and he chased me to my house. i got out of my truck and he started to growl, bark, and lunged at me. i avoided his attack and went for a nearby shovel, at which point he high tailed it down the driveway, rocks crashing down right behind the little fucker. one of my neighbors needs to keep this beast chained/locked up. dogs don't like me and i don't like them, unless they're nice, which they usually aren't. i love all cats though, and two days ago i got to pet a full bobcat fur. i might get one someday, after my singapurras are gone.

I got attacked by a sheperd once too.
I also own a sheperd/rottie now though and he's the best dog ever and would never hurt anyone.
It's not the dog, it's the owner. I mean, some dogs are just born mean but more often than not it's the owner's abuse which makes them the way they are.

no, i don't want dogs banned. cats wouldn't seem so awesome without them assholes around. i've had dogs at festivals even try and piss on my rough obsidian for sale, wtf! i'm always watching their ass when they come around. festivals would be alot more cool though if i could let my cats hang out in my booth without dogs harrasing them. i did meet one lady this summer at a ren fair with a cat dressed up perched on her shoulder.

yeah, it's mostly the owners. i almost got a german shepard last year, but decided i had my hands full enough with my cats.
i got out of my truck because he looked friendly and i was on my property. i'm used to chasing bears away almost daily and he didn't seem near as threatening as they do, the opposite seems to be true though.

i might seem like an asshole for this but if a dog attacked me on my property unprovoked and it was a neighbors dog (and it wasnt the first time) i would whacked that fucker as hard as i could, knocked on the neighbors door and told him to pick his shit up off my lawn

I usually carry a knife on me cause of the area I live in, saved me from getting jumped twice, thus far. If that was me that dog woulda been in rough shape.

you should call ur neighbor and tell em that the dog chased u home and almost bit you and kindly ask them to try and do what they can to prevent it from happenign again

Tell your neighbor to keep it off your property, then set a bear trap with a steak in the middle.

i won't hurt him unless he tries to attack me again. i don't have any of my neighbor's phone numbers and we all live about 1/4 mile apart with forest inbetween. i'm not about to go onto their properties either with that monster on the loose, and i'm not even sure who he belongs to. if that monster kills me, my cats would be stuck indoors and possibly starve to death before someone finds me, so i really have no sympathy for him. i scared him pretty good and i think he learned his lesson.

he may have been abused or just taught to be a guard dog. he also may have been dumped/lost and simply scared/confused. i never swung at him, i got out of the truck and spoke in a friendly manner, at which point he started growling, barking, and then lunged. i would never hurt an animal without being in extreme danger myself.
