If you're going to buy Absinthe, anything by Duplais is pure gold. My favorite is Duplais balance, not because its cheapest but because it tastes best

I like it. It seems that a lot of people from North America do not like Anise alcohol while on the other hand Europeans (especially the French) usually love the stuff.
Did you guys ever feel anything besides getting drunk from drinking absinthe? (From what I've heard you start to feel the thujone's effets after drinking absinthe often and not just from a few drinks)

I love the stuff, honestly, but it's expensive. Much cheaper in SE Asia.

I have a pound of Artemisea Absinthium(SP, dont care)
Its way to bitter to do anything with other than make Absinth alcohol IMO, i tried tea and all it took was like a tiny tiny SIP and my mouth was in hell for an hour.
Ive tried smoking it on multiple occasions, usually fat joints/blunts with it(because its cheap lol) And i didn't get any sort of desirable high from it. I get a wierd feeling sometimes when im smoking it, something i cant put my finger on, but its not like a marijuana substitute or anything close
Ill make some strong absinth at some point though, with just enough alcohol to saturate the whole pound which is result in some seriously potent absinth probably, ill let it sit for a few months too
Any of the shit you buy in stores is trash in the US btw, it is NOT real/potent, don't bother!!! order legit stuff online or make your own

I just get "beyond drunk" from it. That's about the only way for me to explain in. Although I can't tell if it's because of the ingredients, or just because it's a different type of alcohol. It seems every type of alcohol lends a different experience. As an example I feel much different drinking wine then drinking beer. Much different drinking liqueurs than beer. I'd say absinthe fits more into this category.

I love it.
I've got five gallons of sugar wash in the fermenter that's ready to go through the still. That should be good for making about a gallon or so of absinthe.

As far as I can tell, Thujone only has noticeable activity when coupled with Alcohol. I do notice a difference in the feeling of Absinthe compared to other alcholic drinks. Its like a cleaner feeling, more clear headed drunk.
I used to like having a Guiness with a spliff, but Absinthe has replaced it as my favorite drink to have with weed.

Do you guys think there's actually any thujone in most commerical stuff?
There was this law in France which limited the percentage of thujone in absinthe, but even without this law (which has been repealed not long ago) I wouldn't be surprise if most cheap absinthe was just anise liquor.

Most stuff I had, that was supposed to be heavy on thujone, tasted like shit.
I prefer a well-tasting absinthe over any supposedly active one. Moreover, if the absinthe does not become cloudy when diluted with water, it's bunk. There is other drugs I take, if I want some action.

Probably going to get shit for this, but I like the taste of Lucid brand Absinthe. I add my own thujone with Wormwood extracts to make it more active, but even with Absinthe brewed with high levels of thujone the alcohol is way more active than the thujone itself
