I would be excited too except for one thing, my team is the Leafs. They can't even make the playoffs!

Maybe this year! You guys have Grabovski, who looks like he can have a breakout year. You do have problems in you net though. and if all the rumors are true, your gonna have a tougher time getting into the playoffs once Detroit moves to the East.

Flyers played great hockey, Giroux's goal was so fucking sick. I hope maybe everyone else can see why Jagr called him "a young Lemioux"

I'm sorry but Claude Giroux is one of the most underrated players in hockey. I think he will finish top 3 Hart votes this year, even contend for Rocket Richards or Art Ross.

Hated Asham when he was a Flyer, but damn what a shot.

I saw that fight. People got upset because Asham made the sleeping gesture. I didn't think it was that big of a deal. If you watch the slow mo you can see that he keeps Beagles from hitting the ice.

I really don't understand why so many people got their panties in a bunch over Asham's post-fight sleeping gesture. I'm the farthest thing from a Pens fan and still thought that was badass. Also I doubt he saw how badly hurt Beagle was. I dunno... don't think Asham needed to apologize after the fact. But guess it was classy of him to do so.

Agreed...It was a badass gesture, and when he actually saw that Beagle was hurt he banged his stick against the glass to show he was glad that he was OK.

In other news, the rookies this year are looking really good. From RNH to Sean Couterier to the unexpected Matt Read and Luke Adam. This years rookies class looks really good,  as good if not better than last year's. And Shenn has only played one game so far.

Absolutely. Couturier looks like he could win the Selke one day, in my opinion. People knocked him for what they called average skating but it doesn't look like that's hurting his game right now.
Larsson's struggled the past couple games, but that's not surprising for an 18 year old rookie defenseman, no matter how talented he is. He'll get better and the points will come eventually. He came close last night a few times.

Yeah Devils needed a new defenseman to start building the defense around, and he seems like a great choice.

So how are you feeling now? Haha. Joeffry "don't call me Jeffrey" Lupal (Loved him when he played for the Flyers) is killing it. As of course is Kessel, but I think he's gonna slow a little. Still he's living up to what Toronto expected now.

And I'm going on the record again, Giroux is gonna win the Hart trophy.

Anyone's thoughts on the new realignment? I love the new conferences. The only thing I hate is the new playoff system. I think the Flyers are playing in the toughest division, and now instead of playing a team that may be higher seed but plays in a worse division is off the table. The Flyers would have to play 3 of the better teams in the league in the playoffs year in and year out. Make for exciting rivalries though.

So Crosby is out indefinitely with concussion like symptoms. Anyone think his career is over or will he make a come back? All I know is, even though I HATE the Penguins and Sidney, losing such an outstanding player would be a blow to the entire sport and all it's real fans. Even though I hate the guy, I respect him for how good he truly is, no matter how much he whines and cries and takes shit from people.

One thing is for certain, and that is he will be a first ballot HOF even if his career ends today. He has the Hart trophy, Rocket Trophy, Art Ross, Lester B, Runner up for the Calder, and has the Stanley cup ring and a Gold Medal. And this is all in 5 years (last and this year he barely played)

It really is beginning to look like his career is in jeopardy.
