would you do it? No way in the world i would even go that far out in the ocean on a kayak, let alone start trawling shark lures...

Salmon sharks are not dangerous to people, although hooking anything that size from a kayak has inherent risks.

I'd like to see them hook a 400lb Mako.

all sharks are dangerous to humans in my eyes, also, it says they get 9ft and up to 1000lb.  I doubt a Mako would be much harder if that is the case.

Pretty gutsy, but I reckon I'd give it a go if what thescientist said is true. I've mistaken a dolphin for a shark while kaiaking off of the west coast & that was pretty exhilarating to say the least; we only realized it was a dolphin by the time we had franticly ridden the breakers back to shore. There has been a few great whites in the area before & even though they are unlikely to attack a kaiak we still didn't want to hang around.

That sounds like an accident waiting to happen but at the same, I can't help but think how awesome a time I'd have trying to catch shark whilst in a kayak.

You only live once so my answer would be yes, I'd attempt to cash shark in a kayak. Bring it on!

I think a Mako would be much more difficult because they are faster, more aggressive, and have savage jaws.  Also, they have been known to get pretty damn big.

I wouldn't go shark fishing in a kayak, but I have no problem snorkeling/diving/surfing with sharks around.  Sharks are fucking awesome!

Nah, I wouldn't.  I've already gone fishing in a kayak plenty of times and if you hook into a an aggressive fish they can pull the kayak a bit and those are just Redfish.  A shark would pull you miles but maybe they had a bunch of drift anchors or something to keep them more still.

The drift anchor would help a lot.

Worms have teeth, and they aren't dangerous
