Generally, the higher your dose is, the more visuals you will get. Im not sure that there is any best "species" as you put it, for visuals. Just go with what your interested in.

If you're ordering spores to grow then get psilocybe cubensis

i herd the same thing fee. but, as many experienced mushroomers here have said in countless responses to threads about "potency", there is no noticablke difference in the potency between species. im sure how well the mushroom was cared for, the conditions it was in and many other factors do play a tiny role in the amount of that "p word"... the stuff they contain, that is in the mushroom. but as far as the majority of the "elders" are concerned, there is virtually no difference between the species of mushrooms... i believe (correct me if im wrong please).
but yea, im going to order a syringe of GT's pretty soon... so we'll see.

Liberty cap mushrooms (Psilocybe semilanceata) are probably the most famous for visuals, along with P. baeocystis.
It is the most common of the collected Psilocybe mushrooms in the world. more people pick this species than any other world witde.
mj
I also have had the most beauti, visuals and cartoony visuals as well as geodescial patterns shapes and colors while on this species. And I have tried over thirty of the known 191 species world wide.

not realy. Allshrooms either have some at one time or another from shroom to shroom. It is part of the biosynthesis of psilocybein/psilocine.

mjshroomer, I beg to differ. I live in the land of liberty caps (BC, canada), and they suck..I absolutly hate libs. I've tried regular cubensies, blue cubensies and ammazonian cubensies...I must say I got very high off of the ammazonian..but I just did blue cubnensies last nite..And holy SHIT 0_0
Very, Very potent mushrooms..they took about an hour to to start workin...but when they did, they kicked you in the ass. I was sitting on the floor, and the carpet was seriosuly waving like an ocean. I had an awesome trip last nite. I would pick blue cubensies.
peace.

Im in BC canada aswell...and when i was younger used to purchase mushrooms which were picked down in Vancouver...very probable that they were liberty caps...anyways, They really really sucked.
Ive HEARD that malabar is a good visual strain, as is lipa yai (sp?)....but i think z3R0 basically said it, cubes dont differ alot, the variables such as preservation, substrate, and drying have impact on potency and visual activity to an extent.

There are no strains called blue cubensis or ice cubensi is another name from Ohio.
By fresh and dried weight, liberty caps are way more potent than p. cubensis.
Libs take one to two dried grams or one third of a fresh ounce which could be 20-40 fresh mushrooms.
Cubensis takle over one fresh ounce or from three to five dried grams to get high.

hmmmm.....there's no such thing as blue cubensies? damn.....
I know for a fact that the mushrooms I ate where not regular cubensies..SO i guess I don't know what ones they wehre....in that case...sorry for the false info..
mjshroomer, i don't see how liberties could be better, there is NO WAY!!!!!!
I have eaten dried liberty caps, that I picked, and they where not even close to the ammazonian and rergular cubensies I had, not even close.
The cubensies I had gave me very intense, intense visuals. I got an intense body high from liberties, no visuals...Could it have anything to do with the setting?
peace. Im not arguing with you mj, just tryin to figure out stuff

It takes one fresh ounce of P. cubensis or more for a level 3-5 trip. One fresh ounce of liberty caps would fry four people with no problem.
One to two dreid grams or more of liberty caps would fry one person and three to five dried grams of cubies. The difference is right there in a dosage.
And liberty caps are know to reatin the most postency of all 191 species of psilocybian mushrooms.
One collection was analysed which was over 130 years old from England, stored in a herbarium sheet.
