3/4 cup vermiculite
1/4 cup pasturized composted manure (damp not moist)
1/4 cup water

<-- do0d had to add 1/4 cup verm to the mixture to make up for the already damp manure.

do0d is doing this in PF style jars. it seems like it should work but is there something that he doesnt know or is overlooking?

Adding manure to cakes isn't really helpfull unless your trying to fruit pan cyans of off cakes.
Go with rye/millet if your trying for increased yeild off o plain cakes.
If your curious about dung/copost spawn some crushed pf-cakes into the dung...

but will it work? manure costs a hell of alot less than brf.

right now do0d can get 10 lbs of it for $1.97 at local grocery store and only 2-3 lbs of brf for like $4

i can almost gaurantee you that manure at your nursery is no good for shrooms!
I bet they won't colonize it or they'll yeild poorly off it. Brf isn't that exspensive and if you spawned 3 pints of brf/verm cakes into 12-15 of compost or dung you'd get anywhere from 1 to 4 or so dried ounces first flush, about 3 to 6 grams threwout 3 flushes. cant get muck cheaper than that...

gottcha . . . do0d has decided to go with brf cakes with wbs and also he is going to try a poo cake anyways just for fun. Thanks for the info on breaking up cakes into dung. you get 5 shrooms for being such a great mod. thanks!
