Time to patch or induce pinning? <WITH PICTURES>

DELL sent me these pictures in hopes that she could get some more advice. She just cased 2 PF style jars 5 days ago. Temp has been around 85 with RH near 100%. She has read the FAQ over and over and understands what patching and overlay are, but there aren't any pictures to use as a guide. She hopes that the experts on this board will be able to tell her if she should patch the myc., initiate pinning or leave it alone for a few more days until the myc. become more prominent. Thanks in advance!!!

I would go ahead and induce pinning.

Mr friend was just wondering this as well.... you guys say to start it pinning... what would you have seen to make you say she should patch it first?

really, you should only patch if the mycelium is only poking through on one side, but from the pic, it looks like its coming through all over. looks good.

I guess I am confused about the whole patching process. The FAQ said to patch only if myc. aren't evenly distributed through the casing layer...well I guess I just answered my own question, haha. Being a newbie and all...she is just being over cautious. I will relay the advice you guys gave her. THANKS AGAIN!!!!

White blotches of mycelium poping up un-evenly...then you would patch it.

Just put it in the terranium and fan it several times a day, you can cold shock it if it doesnt start to pin and the mycelium carries on growing but you should be fine.
