Crazy slow colonization time

I got some multi spore syringes from freespores.com which by the way were a great deal, I bought one at like $9 bucks and got one free. And the delivery was very fast at like three days. I got one TC and one GT. I knocked up a 5pd & a 1pd.mycobag of. rye berries 8 days ago and there's only a speck of white at the bottom of the bags. This is the slowest colonization I've ever seen. I even sprayed the majority of the spores on the sides and top of the berries so I could see the growth easier. This is the first time I've bought from freespores.com. I hope they speed up soon. Has anyone had similar slow colonization times?

you siad you sprayed the majority of the spores...did you use the whole syringe?? you only need a bit!

colonization depends on temp if you sure you have no contams. i find 74-79 f to be about right. ambient light is ok too.

I'm not new to this. I just wanted to compare notes with anyone that has used multi spore from freespores.com and or has extraordinary slow colonization times with rye berry mycobags. Thanks!!

Its not uncommon to see MS take 10 days before germ on grain.

i always use rye bags. 14 -20 days seems avarage colonization time for me. this last lot is PE and they did 100% in 12 days!

Yea, I have some PE6 right now that are crazy fast.

Just make sure you don't have slimy grain, or smelly stuff. Keep an eye

out for bacteria.

My rye colonized from the inside out


I threw it out because i didnt see any mycelium in 2 weeks, then it broke open. It was colonized to about 3 centimeters from the surface
