AFOAF is growing several different strains of PC right now which include Creepers, Hawaiian, PR, Malabar, GT and EQ. In his first batch he innoculated jars with Hawaiians, PR and Creepers. 3 days later he did his second batch and innoculated jars with Malabar, GT and EQ. He placed all the jars in an incubator.

Just the other day he checked the progress of his jars and reported this to my friend:

Hawaiians - 50% after 2 weeks
PR - 50% after 2 weeks
Creepers - 25% after 2 weeks
GT - 30% after 1 1/2 weeks
EQ - 45% after 1 1/2 weeks
Malabars - 40% 1 1/2 weeks

So, his Malabar strain is actually colonzing at an average to an above average pace compared with the other strains, which he expected from earlier experience with the strain. I don't know if this helps you or not... just thought I would share someone elses grow so you would have something to compare to.

If your jars a colonizing at an unusally slow pace, could you have possibly packed your substrate in to tightly? Added too much water? Added to little water?

Used popcorn so it couldn't be too tight. i guess its possible that there's a little too much water but I don;t think so.
The batch before was Amazonian on popcorn and it was 100% between 1and 1 1/2 weeks.

My 5th cousins malabars are going alot slower than his ecuadors about 20% to 60%??? Must be a substrate thing, or possibly less spores in the syringe, maybe coincidence?
