Is it possable to introduce Psilocybe Cubensis to a Pasture/newarea
    #14506269 - 05/24/11 07:22 PM (12 years, 9 months ago)

I am wondering if i could introduce psilocybe cubensis to an area without this mushroom.
I Have a big spray bottle filled with water and Cubensis spores. I will go around and spray every Decent dung pile i see.

It is the fall here, so if i spray now they will stay there until they colonize in spring and fruit in the end of summer.

Is this likly to work? The conditions are good for cubensis in the summer/spring.
Or if it will just simply not work.

you have to feed the spore prints to the cows, so they get put into the poop not just ontop. or spray the cow feed.

I have a few 'salt licks' for the cows. I will spray them.

Do i have to Drench the feed, or just spray it abit?

This thread was moved from Advanced Mycology.

Reason:
You might think about what salt does to spores before trying that.

You can put prints in the cow's water trough, or you can lift up the cow pies and pour spore solution on the ground below them.  Spraying on top won't work.  Unless it's a native habit-like climate they won't establish.

Try and bury a colonized pf cake with pasturized compost, manure, and/or straw in the ground.

I had the idea of of taking some wood growing cubes, growing out some nice pitri dishes, then taking that mycelium, putting it in a blender, then putting that in one of those big pump up bug sprayers then eating some shrooms then walking around shooting it under bushes.  Or maybe even take dung loving cube, do the same thing with the blender and the bug sprayer but just shove the tip of the sprayer into the cow patty and give it a shot.
