quick ID on single fungi specimen
    #14473778 - 05/18/11 02:57 PM (12 years, 10 months ago)

I have picked one loner fungi specimen growing in wet soil in grass that previously was mulched to help regrow the grass. Now around my area SE PA USA around this time of year fungi pop up all over frequented areas (well frequent for me and wild animals I suppose) but for now I would just like to know if possible what this specimen is and what you all can tell me about it. I am a new user but had lurked around from time to time so forgive me if I am a noob as frankly I am when it comes to mycology.

about 2.25-2.5in. stem which is a much lighter whiter color at the top connecting to the cap than the rest of the stem. The cap is an obtuse/oblong conical appearance with darker coloring at the tip and same for the ring around the bottom of the cap. This specimen was found alone in soil around grass that gets fertilized and mulched around this time of year to start the dead patches of grass back up. I live in very close if not immediate proximity to wooded or forests so identifying trees is not the easiest task but to name a few oak, maple, evergreen, willow. the stem is very delicate and soft. I would have left it to make some babies but it started pouring down today and there was a tornado watch so I decided to grab it and try to get an idea of one of the varieties that I see all over during the spring and summer months.

What's the spore print color?  Could be Panaeolus cinctulus.
