Casing mold......
    #1434583 - 04/06/03 09:45 PM (20 years, 11 months ago)

Well, lets assume that I might be seeing some green mold on a casing, that is imaginary

and on that imaginary casing, how would I go about killing the green mold, but not any of the pins that have started to form? what happens if I do nothing, also, does this make the imaginary shrooms bad to eat?

There are several threads regarding green mold and the possible ways to fight it. There are MANY different ideas on what you can use to fight it. Use the search feature read a few of the different ways and decide which is best for you.

If you do nothing the green mold will most likely completely overtake your casing.

Usually the rule is if your casing is contaminated throw it out. It isn't worth the health risks. The mushroom fruits can be contaminated from the green mold on your casing and it is not necessarily a visibile contamination.

If you catch green mold early it can be saved though. We can't tell you if it is even worth trying to save the casing without more information or a picture. Green molds are not easy molds to fight because once you see them they usually have a pretty good foothold on the casing.
