Rust on Lids

I've been growing for awhile, using pretty much the same jars, and theres always jars on the lids around the innoculation holes and the top around the rim where the band hits the lid. I don't think the rust has affected the mycelium in anyway, but my concern is that the jars always end up with rust all over the tops. Any ideas for making sure they don't rust anymore or any comments?

Well this is what I do.

Every time you clean your lids make sure to dry them right away.
If you see any rust starting...use a wire brush...the tooth brush size "Brass" ones that you can get an auto part store.
I never get real rusty lids this way.

If you lids get too bad from age...just replace them with plastic ones.

The problem isn't rusting when cleaning the lids as much as it is rusting during colonization. Also, theres a problem when I put the cakes on the lids during fruiting, but this can be fixed by using some type of mesh netting.

I have found that the all glass canning jars, meaning glass lid with rubber seal that is extra, work graet, cover in fouil put glass lid on pc, and then inoc through the foil, glass lid back in place and put in dark warm place. Works great and is dishwasher safe.

I want to be able to use durable lids though. I see nothing wrong with their lids, except for the fact that they rust.
