Big Straw Cake?

Used a 1 foot square box & bag to run a straw cake that is about 12x12x4" thick and wondered if others have done this? Read that it could be done but not much about it. Took it out of the box and plastic a couple days ago. set it on plastic and have a drape over it to hold in moisture. Waiting. Experienced with comforting (or cautious...) words? Oh - cased the top with plain vermiculite to hold some moisture.

Still waiting. Put it outside in the cold for awhile (3 hours) and see how it likes that....

I have done several cased in the box, but this is my first block attempt. It's such an easy and cheap tech...
I totally agree with the other thread so far - it ran fast and thick.
