I'm sure it has been covered by now but how does one measure the proper qater content of WBS??? I usually soak for 24 hours, then rinse and drain for about 1 hour then load up.

-thanks

that's about it. i'm sure somebody will drop 6t's 2 page WBS Tek into this thread as usually happens when the letters W B S appear. I have reduced invitro contamination to 0% simply by draining, rinsing, and resoaking in the middle of the 24 hour soak. IMO it washes away endospores and encourage the remaining endospores to germinate. BTW I soak in water that is as hot as my sink will get it (both soakings). I don't bother simmering as I don't care to get my grain ready in under 2 hours or anything. I would say that there is no specific amount of drainage time. You can tell real quick if too much water gets in the jars tho. I can rinse, drain, and load ~24 quarts worth of WBS in about 1 hour. One of those strainers that straddles the sink and a canning funnel are key to this.

that's it. there should be no need to measure. soak, drain, the end. i have seen great success with this method.
