Acurite Temperature & Humidity Reader

^ ^ ^ ^
I stumbled upon this today at K-Mart for $19.99 and thought it would be an awesome choice for a Tempurature & Humidity reader for my Grandmas Fruiting Chamber.

The reason I like this one is because #1 it's digital (although I know digital isn't always accurate)....and #2 it has a 10 foot weather proof sensor wire which means that the digital display can be placed outside the fruiting chamber while the sensor wire is placed inside the chamber so it can read the temp and humidity so that my Grandma can check on the tempurature and humidity without having to open the lid on the fruiting chamber thus possibly disturbing the inside homeostasis. < damn that was a bad run on sentence.

Just out of curiosity what kind of temp/humidity gauges do you guys use?

The sensor wire will not read the Humidity, The doctor has one.

My friend uses the same thermometer/hygrometer. He likes it as it is cheap. The sensor doesn't read the humidity as previously mentioned, so my friend only uses it to monitor incubation. He likes the $10 analog ones for humidity -- they can even be mounted in the chamber with the dials facing outside. If you want a cheap hygrometer, check out http://www.platinumhumidors.com/hygrometers.htm. They have a much better variety than K-Mart!

Well then my grandma can use the sensor wire for the incubation chamber then once the cakes are birthed and placed in the fruiting chamber the entire device can be placed in the fruiting chamber just like the old fasion way.
