Hydrometer - where to get one
    #1359481 - 03/09/03 02:36 AM (21 years, 26 days ago)

I'm trying to find hydrometers but no luck. I'm always at the plant section at wallyworld but no luck. Tried Lowe's but got lost. Radio shack has a digital one with a temperature gauge added but $20. Is there a less high tech hydrometer that cost less?

i think im using the same hydrometer u saw @ radio shack, its a good hydrometer, accurate from 2-99% rh, and it has a good min/max memory system.  i doubt you will find anything with the kind of quality you need for < $20.  if u cant afford to part with $20 (like me) you should know the radio shack employees in my area have never noticed 5 $20 hydrometers missing, maybe they are similar to those in around you

I bought a digital temperature/hygrometer combo at lowes for around 20 bucks, but I was pissed because I was at walmart the other day and they had one BETTER than mine for only 6 bucks. I was so damn pissed.

yeah at radio shack they only had 1. so we didn't take it. i do have 20 for a hydrometer but i already got a temp gauge. really don't need a temp gauge. Just the h-meter itself. really no need of fancy equipment..

look, dude/dudette, it's called a hyGrometer, see that "G" instead of the "D"? a hydrometer measures the specific gravity of a liquid. a hygrometer measures rH. get it straight.

i agree that spelling is irrevelant to an extent. that extent ends when you mistakenly communicate one device when you meant another. also, IME, most people who spell it "hydrometer" are also pronouncing it that way and are going to have serious problems finding a hygrometer when they are asking for something else.
